The Vedic Nakshatra Stars and the Native American Star Relatives

By Katya Faris, M.A.

One of the aspects of Vedic Astrology that spoke to me right away was the stars that are attributed to each nakshatra. Coming from a Native American background on my mother’s side that was hidden, Cherokee and Choctaw, I had to search out Native American spirituality, and discovered Chief Golden Light Eagle of the Yankton Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. He is the director of the Star Knowledge Conferences that I have been involved with since 2015. As I came from a Western tropical astrology background I was unfamiliar with the stars being associated with a sign. This is because tropical astrology is not based on the stars, it is based on the seasons. In 2015-16 I taught workshops on the Sacred Geometry of Dance at his conferences and learned the depth of how the two systems are linked. There are many similarities between Babylonian and Vedic astrology, and scholars are now saying that perhaps the Indian race was a tribe of Babylon that migrated to what is now India. Because of this research, I believe that the lineage of Vedic astrology goes back to Babylon, and this is linked to the Sumerian gods as indicated in the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Annunaki.

Who are the Star Relatives? To Native Americans they are the beings who have seeded the human race on Earth, and they come from various star systems and galaxies. They are the ones who modern man calls “aliens”. They are the ones who are tied to our folklore of creation across the globe. They are the Annunaki of Sumer, the Greek Gods, the Tuatha De Danaan of Ireland, the Egyptian Ancient gods, the people of the White Buffalo Calf Woman of the Sioux. You can find myths in almost every culture that speak about a mother race that goes back to beings from off-planet that brought life to our planet. Who are they? Some call them the Counsel of Nine. As my great grandfather was Native American I have always been drawn to stories from the tribes about the Star Relatives. After learning Western astrology I have been able to make some connections between what the Native Americans call the Star Relatives and what the East Indians associate with each nakshatra and their stars. Imagine that the beings from each star system embody the qualities that the Indian nakshatras give them. I do believe there is a connection here between the Native American applications of the star system meanings and the Vedic nakshatra myths, and I can’t help but wonder if Babylon and the Annunaki are the connection. There is a lot of research pointing to the Iroquois and Cherokee Nations as being the Lost Tribe of Israel and the Nephalim as described by the biblical texts. If these tribes are the Nephalim, the descendents of Enki in Atlantis, then we certainly have a plot twist.

Another phenomenon that I have noticed that is concurrent between the two systems is the time that each individual enters their dasha cycle. It is always the same time, for instance mine is always at 1:35 PM. The way that translates into Native American numerology is breaking down the numbers into 13 and 5. Thirteen is from the Lyran star system, 13th dimensional, and 5 is also Lyran. This makes sense, as Lyra is associated with the Lyre, or Oud, and this is the main instrument played by Apollo, the Greek God of music. I have been paying attention to my friend’s dasha cycle time stamp, and its Native American symbolism, and it’s uncanny. Here are the meanings for each number and they star system correspondence that I’ve learned from Chief.  I’m sure there are as many combinations as there are star systems in our galaxy, but these are just the ones that have been brought to my attention:

1. Pleiadian: 3, 33, 333, any variation of 3. Also, 7th dimensional.

2. Arcturian: 4, 44, 444, any variation of 4. Also, 11th dimensional.

3. Orion: 2, 22, 222, any variation of 2. Also, 6th dimensional.

4.  Vega: (in the Lyran constellation, also associated with Sirius; they are cousins): 5, 55, 555, any variation of 5. Also, 13th dimensional.

5. Galactic Center: 1, 11, 111, 11:11 (gateway to other dimensions); 11th dimensional.

Here is a list of each nakshatra and the star associated with it, and where I see overlap between the two systems. There is a folklore story in the Native American pantheon for some of the stars, so I will show the ones that are pertinent.

1) Krittika (nakshatra in Aries):

When I think of Krittika, I think of Mars, and cutting. Surgeons, engineers, butchers, and choreographers often have this somewhere prominent in their chart.

Star: The Pleiades-Sioux,

*The Pleiades star system is very close to the hearts of many Native American tribes, such as the Yankton Sioux of South Dakota, USA. The White Buffalo Calf Woman is the spiritual mother of their race, and it is said that she came here with her sisters from the Pleiades to teach humans how to survive on this planet. Since Krittika is associated with medical professionals, and it is said that the Pleiadians were DNA architects of humans as the Annunaki are tied to them, so I would see this nakshatra in this light. They are the engineers of light that have created the human genome. Their energy is very “Earthy”, and has contributed greatly to human’s DNA. There are seven planets in the Pleiades, and so many races live there. The one that most humans know of are the “tall Nordics”, tall blondes that seem Viking in appearance. There are others, such as the Japanese, that are darker and less known, but nonetheless very Pleiadian. Since there are seven stars in the system, that means there are several planets there that could foster life. This accounts for the wide variety of species that come from the Pleiades; tall Nordics, small Asian beings, and non-humanoid creatures are in the Pleiadian mythologies across our globe.

2) Rohini (nakshatra in Taurus):

The “red one”; sensuality and seduction are a part of this nakshatra. Very charming nakshatra; these natives are pleasure seekers! Krishna is said to have had his moon placement here. They can use their charm for ill will, too. Rohini was the favorite daughter of Lord Chandra, the Moon, as he stays in this nakshatra the longest. This enraged and made the others jealous; so, Rohini has a passionate strife to its energy.

Star: Aldebaran

This is a star next to the Pleiades, and is a bright orange color from our perspective. It is associated with war and strife and also recently has been associated with Nazi Germany. It is said that the Vrill Society that inspired the Nazis came from this star; they were blond Nordics. These beings are said to be warlike and concerned about conquest.

3) Mrigashira (nakshatra in the sign of Taurus/Gemini):

Head of a deer; people with this nakshatra strong often have big doelike eyes. Prajapati is the “world maker” in the Vedas, and he rules this nakshatra. Loving the hunt, and never satisfied once the game is over.

Star: Orion

This is a sacred star system to many tribes, and they are the star system that spoke to Chief when he channeled his Symbols book information about the glyphs on the aircraft downed at Socorro, New Mexico, in 1947. The beings from Orion are said to be warlike, but there are 57 nations that Chief has contacted there, so it seems they are about creation. The energy from this star system is fiery, and very feminine.

7) Swati (nakshatra in the sign of Libra):

Swati is known as “The sword”; the young sprout swaying in the wind, the goddess Saraswati, who rules learning, education and the arts. Rules the wind, and these natives can have sensitive digestive tracks from too much Vata. “Swa” means “four” in Sanskrit, so it’s no wonder 444 to Native Americans refers to Arcturus, the star associated with Swati.  Excellence in the arts is seen in this nakshatra, as it sits in Libra. Swati is ruled by Saraswati, the Indian goddess of the arts, music, and literature. She is also Kuan Yin, the Chinese goddess of mercy and compassion. Arcturus is said to be the star of the Neandrathal, one of the stars in the Bootes constellation, the Great Archer who hunts the Great Bear. The Bear constellation is sacred to the Neandrathal peoples. Arcturus is the oldest known star to man, and has already done the toroidal return path of going through the Galactic Center vortex and coming out on the other side. It is said that the Arcturians helped to seed life on planet Earth, and they are the ones referred to as the Great White Brotherhood, which has to do with the white robes they use for their ceremonies, not the white race of humans.

Star: Arcturus
