June 17th, 10:47pm EST-Venus Enters Taurus
Venus, the graha of love, luxuries, relationships, and wealth is now in her own sign of Taurus, the Bull. Venus has two signs, the other being Libra, and that is her moolitrikona sign, or best sign. Still, Venus loves to be in Taurus, and this grounds her and makes her more financially stable. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, so while Venus is in this sign there is a softness and motherly quality to her, and people with this placement are known to be excellent cooks or even professional chefs. Currently, Jupiter is in Venus’ sign of exaltation, Pisces, so even though we are in difficult times, this energy is asking us to keep creating, and to stay hopeful and optimistic. Let’s take a look at the forecast as Venus moves through each of her nakshatras in Taurus.
Venus Nakshatra Transits
Krittika: June 17-26
Krittika is about cutting through, about acting, and being the peace warrior. Kartikeya is the deity that rules here, he was a misunderstood warrior, and the son of Shiva and Parvati. He rides a peacock and is also known as Skanda. The symbols are knives or swords, so people that use these, hairdressers, chefs, surgeons, etc. may benefit financially through their trade during this period. The Pleiades rules here, and they are the “7 weeping sisters” who took care of Kartikeya and were accused of adultery by their father. This made them weep, and hence why when we see this constellation high in the night sky in the northern hemisphere it portends rain in the spring and summer.
This star is ruled by the Sun, and the Sun is in Gemini not conjunct any other planet; this is good, as planets get “burnt” when combust the Sun. Initially, Venus can shine and do her work, as she is conjunct Mercury now, and is not receiving any malefic aspects from Mars or Saturn. Jupiter, Mars and Neptune are making a sextile to Venus and Mercury, which should be excellent for the arts. Venus in her own sign of Taurus already indicates art but having this aspect will activate her to really create something special. Saturn retrograde is making a square aspect to Venus during this nakshatra period, and that’s not necessarily bad. Yes, the economy and cryptocurrency have tanked, but this is the combination of work hard play hard, so I feel that Saturn is driving us to figure it out now. Work hard, and Saturn will reward us later.
Rohini: June 26-July 7
This nakshatra is the “Star of Ascent”, and is ruled by Aldebaran, “the red one”. It brings a lusty passionate vibe, and people can become greedy here. Taurus rules the second house of the mouth, and in this nakshatra they love good food, and love to taste the world with their mouth, so wine, liquor, French food, caviar, etc., those sort of luxurious cravings are explored with this star. Rohini has as the deity Brahma, or Prajapati, the Creator. He had to cast a spell on Soma, the Moon god, to make him stop consorting with Rohini. There is an intense suffering seen here, and this is felt by Soma, as his punishment was a curse that he was ill half of the month, and this is why the Moon waxes and wanes. His intense desire for Rohini made him spend more time with her, and hence make the other nakshatras jealous, particularly, Jyeshta, the opposite nakshatra in Scorpio. As Venus is about love and relationships, issues of jealousy and betrayal will come up now.
The day that Venus goes into Rohini, Mars goes into Aries, his own sign, and then Neptune goes retrograde within that day. Rohini is ruled by the Moon, and is very sensitive to malefic energies, so she will feel like she’s being stalked. Mars is now conjunct Rahu, and this heat wave we’re having currently will probably ramp up again, on through August. However, Venus is in her own sign of Taurus, and Mars is in his own sign of Aries, so this will strengthen both planets. On this day the Moon is also in Rohini and receives a shuba kartari yoga as he sits between Venus and Mercury, so this is a protective element to this transit. This is a blessing, because when Neptune goes retrograde in Pisces, he is still conjunct Jupiter, and we often have drownings, hurricanes, floods, etc., when this occurs. In the US birth chart Uranus is in Taurus at 18 degrees 11 minutes, and Venus will conjunct it on the 3rd. Watch for this, as it could portend a financial downturn, or as it’s in the 6th house of health, we will hear something about women’s health, particularly Roe vs. Wade.
Mrigashira: July 7-July 13
Mrigashira is the Star of Searching, and the fixed star that rules here is Bellatrix on the left shoulder of the Orion constellation. This nakshatra speaks of the Female Warrior archetype. The deity that rules here is Soma, the Moon god, and this nakshatra’s mythology is tied up with Rohini. This time it’s Prajapati chasing Rohini, and Shiva having to shoot him down with an arrow to stop him from molesting his own daughter. Hence, this star has a lot to do with incest and childhood sexual trauma. Having Venus here in her own sign will bring up these issues in relationships, and especially for females.
This star is ruled by Mars, and transit Mars is approaching a conjunction with Rahu in Aries on August 1st. I feel that we will feel the pressure of this buildup starting now, and the heat will be bad, with many wild fires, and perhaps blackouts due to the electrical grid being taxed by air conditioners. This nakshatra period is marked by Saturn retrograde going back into Capricorn on July 12th, and also, Rahu switches nakshatras to go into Bharani. This puts Saturn’s 10th aspect onto Ketu in Libra again, so anyone with planets in Libra will feel the intensity like they did last year. Ketu in Venus’ other sign of Libra will really put some pressure onto relationships and creativity. Having Saturn Rx conjunct Pluto Rx will reveal some hidden power plays, and secret discussions the public are not privy to with Venus making a trine to them.
Mrigashira, Gemini: July 13-18
Now that Venus is in Gemini, having Saturn Rx and Pluto Rx make a 6/8 quincunx aspect to Venus may portend another financial downturn. We are in the nodal period of Rahu in Aries and Ketu in Libra which is where they were during the Great Depression, so this could portend the official Recession they’ve been talking about in the news. Remember, Venus rules billionaires, as she rules luxuries, so having this harsh aspect from Saturn and Pluto, which are both in the US 2nd house, will portend more financial instability. This is a time to be frugal, and just HODL, or “hang on for dear life”. We could even have more solar flares as Venus approaches combustion with the Sun.
