June 14th, 7:42am EST-Full Moon, 29 degrees Scorpio, Jyeshta

This month’s Full Moon is at 29.15 degrees of Scorpio, Jyeshta nakshatra. This means “the eldest one” and spans from 16.40 to 30 degrees of Scorpio. The symbols are a circular amulet, umbrella, or an earring. The deity that rules this lunar mansion is Indra, the chief of the gods. This is the “Chief Star”, and the fixed star Antares rules here; it means, “anti-Aries, or Mars”, and is seen as the rival of Mars, as their energies are very similar. This star brings military power, and also a political drive for honors and glory, but with possible sudden loss. The mythology is about Jyeshta as the eldest of 27 wives of Lord Chandra, or Soma, the Moon god. She felt betrayed when their husband, Soma, spent more time with Rohini, which is the opposite nakshatra. The fixed star Aldebaran is associated with Rohini, and in times of war Antares and Aldebaran are used to see who will win the fight, with Aldebaran showing the winner.

Those who are born with Jyeshta as their Moon, Sun, Ascendant, Atma karaka or karakamsha all have issues surrounding jealousy and betrayal, and often feel abandoned. These are the elders who do have a superiority complex, but they also are often in charge of looking after others. They are very protective, and you will see many in law enforcement or the military with this nakshatra very prominent in their chart. Due to a fear of abandonment, they have low self-esteem, and project it as arrogance, and can often be hypocritical. They have a bit of a chip on their shoulders, and it shows. They are used to dealing with those in authority, and others feel protected by them. They will have big ups and downs in life, and as a result don’t trust others easily, and they will have few friends. They love to be alone and investigate mysteries, so this makes for a great researcher, especially of the occult. Scorpio is ruled by Mars, and Jyeshta is ruled by Mercury, so these two transit planets will be particularly important today.

Transits

This Full Moon in Scorpio is at 29’15”, which makes it gandanta. “Gand” means “knot”, and “anta” means “end”, so this is a very well-placed knot at the end of rope that we must unravel before we go to the next level. It always happens when planets travel from 26.40 of any water sign, to 3.20 degrees of the next fire sign. It feels like you’re drowning, because you are engulfed in water turning into fire, and that steam process literally cleans your emotions. It’s often not a fun time, however, so be easy on yourself right now.

Even though traditionally Antares is associated with Jyeshta, it is actually at about 15 degrees of Scorpio, nowhere near 29 degrees. There is a star that is, though, and that star is Rasalhaque. Here’s some information about this fixed star in the Ophiuchus constellation.

Rasalhaque, 22°27′ tropical Sagittarius, 28.10’ sidereal Scorpio

Saturn/Venus-bold, cruel, heartless, adulterous, criminal, liar, loss of estates, poverty, few friends.

Fixed star Rasalhague, Alpha Ophiuchi, is a 2.1 magnitude sapphire star on the head of the Serpent Bearer, Ophiuchus Constellation.  The traditional name Rasalhague is from the Arabic رأس الحواء (raʾs al-ḥawwāʾ) which means the Head of the Serpent Collector. If culminating, improved health, fame by help of superiors. It gives misfortune through women, perverted tastes and mental depravity. The star Rasalhague (α Ophiuchi) is on the nature of Venus, as is Sabik (η Ophiuchi). But these stars have generally been associated with the excesses of this planet, portending perverted morals, mental depravity, and misfortune through women. Rasalhague, in the Head of the Snake Charmer, has a Saturn like character, and some of the undesirable Venus qualities are also present.  Connected with these are Neptunian tendencies, making the native especially prone to infections caused by toxins. People thus influenced tend to medical or hallucinatory drugs, stimulating food, too much good living, and overindulgence in alcohol. There is danger of insect bites, snake bites or assault from animals or rabid dogs. Rasalhague star rules the right side of the groin in the human body.

For Washington DC this Full Moon is in the 6th house, and this indicates health, and also service, as well as open enemies. We see the themes of women, sex, excess, and toxins playing out in society currently, as the virus seems to be coming back, the abortion issue in Congress, gun control as a result of several mass shootings, and also a crackdown on pornography websites. The Moon is pretty isolated for this Full Moon, which means the other planets are far away from him. Moon does not like to be alone, so I feel mental health issues will really come forward, so we must avoid places that don’t feel right, as the air is ripe for conflict and lunacy.

Mars is the ruler of this Full Moon, and he is sitting in Pisces conjunct Jupiter and Neptune in the 10th house of the day, indicating that the government is literally “swash buckling” the law to change gun control. You see, the Jupiter Mars conjunction in a person’s birth chart shows someone who tackles the problems of life with gusto and attacks it with their weapons of choice. Well, it’s the weapons that are getting attacked this time, and it’s the first time in many years that a bipartisan bill has been achieved where both sides of the House of Representatives agree on something almost entirely. Now we have to see what the Senate will do, and as Saturn is retrograde in the 9thhouse of law, it looks like we will have a stall, and a “wait and see” on the bill. Perhaps when Saturn goes direct, we will get somewhere, but that won’t be until October 23. As Saturn goes back into Capricorn, we see old “stick in the mud” attitudes, but once he goes back into Aquarius on January 23rd, we will see a more futuristic and innovative approach to gun control.

The good thing is that the lagna for this Full Moon is Gemini, Punarvasu, “the return of the Light”, and Aditya, the mother goddess. This is the “comeback kid” nakshatra ruled by Jupiter, so this gives us hope and optimism that we can overcome our setbacks now.

US Birth Chart Transits

For the US birth chart this Full Moon is taking place in the 12th house, which indicates foreign lands, and secret enemies. I feel this points to the Ukrainian war, and things reaching a climax. The US must also be careful of foreign enemies that are in hiding, as when Mars conjuncts Rahu on August 1st we may find out who they are, and what their plans are. This I also think is indicating that it’s going to be a hot summer, and it’s already starting here in the Midwest with humid temperatures reaching over 100 degrees with the heat index. All of this heat can stir up anger, but try to harness Mar’s energy through exercise, especially anything in the water.

Rahu is with Venus for this Full Moon, and they are in a tight orb, and with Uranus close by we could see sudden sexual violence towards women. If you’re a woman, be careful on this day, and also any issues of jealousy, betrayal, and abandonment should be addressed at this time, as it’s an excellent time to release any trauma. If you’ve had an abortion, and are still healing from the trauma of it, here’s a beautiful ceremony that you can do to release the soul of the child to move onto its next incarnation. Pluto retrograde is in the 8thhouse for this Full Moon, even more evidence that this is an excellent time to let go and transform old pain.
