Today, I want to introduce you to the celestial presence who graciously revealed herself within this sanctuary and has become its guiding spirit: Archangel Muriel.
The Whisper That Named a Sanctuary
When I opened The Muriel Suite in Fountain Square Mall last May, I envisioned a sanctuary for holistic healing—a place where Vedic Astrology, Tarot, Reiki, sound healing, and aromatherapy could converge. What I didn’t foresee was the gentle, persistent visitation of a luminous angelic figure during my sessions.
At first, I mistook her for a client’s grandmother—a common clairvoyant impression. But she kept appearing, her hair a radiant white, her energy soft yet undeniable. In one session, she handed me a sphere of yellow light, a symbol I associated with Jupiter’s abundance. When that client confirmed no white-haired grandmother, I knew this was someone else entirely—a guide making her presence known.
In the quiet of a meditative bath (where some of my deepest insights arise!), her name came as a gentle whisper in my inner ear: “Muriel.” Even then, life’s busyness almost let the moment slip—until her telepathic nudge: “Hey, don’t forget to look my name up!” I checked all of my angel oracle card decks; no Muriel. So, then I looked her up online.
What I discovered left me awestruck and confirmed a divine alignment I could never have planned.
Muriel: The Myrrh of God & Her Divine Attributes
Muriel translates to “The Myrrh or Perfume of God.” Myrrh, one of the sacred gifts offered at the birth of Christ, is a resin known for its healing, purifying, and anointing properties. It is deeply tied to spirituality, emotional release, and sacred ceremony.

In Western angelic and astrological traditions, she is closely linked to the sign of Cancer, which rules the heart, home, and the deep, tidal world of feelings. The famed “Sleeping Prophet” and empathetic healer, Edgar Cayce, often spoke of a primary spiritual guide—a female angel who taught him how to navigate and manage his profound empathic and psychic gifts. Cayce never named her publicly, but his descriptions resonate powerfully. Given Muriel’s specific domain as a guide for empaths and healers, her role in teaching emotional and energetic boundary management, and her nurturing, instructional energy, I have a strong personal sense that Archangel Muriel was the divine being who trained and protected Edgar Cayce. This speculation deepens my reverence for her as the ultimate mentor for those of us called to healing arts.
