After studying Vedic astrology for almost 10 yrs now I’ve come to see that we are ALL of the signs and nakshatras. Yes. There are 60 charts, your birth chart and 59 charts that come from it, and you are ALL of them (you need a n accurate birth time to use the subsequent 59 charts). I’ve noticed that if someone is clearly exhibiting a certain nakshatra, and it’s not present in their D1 or D9, then you must look for the chart it is prominent in.
Example A: Tiger Woods
We’re watching TV the other night, and a news story comes on about how he is bouncing back so well after his accident. I say, “He’s the comeback kid!” So, I look up his chart thinking I’d find Punarvasu nakshatra, which means “the return of the light”, and indicates the rising dawn after the Dark Night of the Soul. You cannot keep a Punarvasu person down for long, they always have a comeback. Well, it wasn’t in his birth or navamsa charts. I looked through all of them, and it was present in his D6, the Trimshamsha chart, which fine tunes the 6th house, and indicates accidents, health, obstacles and emenies!!! His Sun is at 29° of Gemini, Punarvasu, in his D6 in the 10th house of career conjunct Uranus, which indicates accidents. Wow. There it is! He was operating from and enacting his D6, and this is what was helping him to bounce back so quickly. The Sun is the father, so probably he get this quality from his father.

Example B: Name Withheld
This is the chart of a client of mine, so I cannot reveal the name, but it was such a poignant discovery that I had to include it; with her permission I am sharing this. She came to me because of being sexually abused as a child from her father, and all of the subsequent trauma that she has experienced in life from it. She has had weight issues, relationship issues, self worth, money issues, etc., and everything is stemming back to this experience with her father. Leaking sexual energy is another manifestation of this energy, as there is a constant need for attention to validate the ego. This person talks and talks and talks incessantly, and it is a technique to keep herself from remembering the trauma. When you talk, you are not listening, so as a consequence she has learning challenges, and goes from job to job, because she cannot follow through. She cannot have a proper conversation with somebody else, because if she learns something from them, then she gets triggered, and then just starts talking again. I’m thinking to myself, this is Shravana nakshatra! Shravana is the Star of Listening, but most people are not spiritually adept enough to handle it, so they do the opposite, which is talking. She did not have this nakshatra in her birth or navamsa charts, so I looked at all of them and it was very clearly present in her D12, the Dwadashamsha chart! This chart gives a deeper look into the 12th house, and shows us information about our past lives, and what we are to work on in this lifetime. It shows both the strengths and weaknesses of the past, and any fears or challenges we will have in this lifetime. The most important planet in this chart is the Sun, because it is our Soul Essence, and it is tied to our ego and the father. Well, her Sun is at 1° of Shravana in her D12 in the 9th house of the father!! Also, notice that her Saturn which is the dispositor of her Sun, is retrograde and at 0 degrees of Leo! Clearly her incessant talking is tied to the trauma of her father, and past lives with him. She has to work on this in order to learn how to listen, and hence how to learn. Her descendant in this chart is rohini, and this implies being the favorite daughter that gets raped, and also Rahu in Mrigashira, the chase.

In conclusion, my observation is that you must look at the whole of a person, do not just focus on their birth or navamsa charts. Even the D60 can be used as the birth chart, but what you must observe first about a person is what nakshatra they currently are showing you. Then find that in any of the charts, and Just Go With It!
