This will be a heated month with Mars still combust the Sun, several planets in Virgo, Rahu going into Ardra and Saturn going Direct!

September 2nd til the 4th-Mars combust the Sun 15-17 degrees Leo

Today we have Mars exactly conjunct the Sun at 15 Degrees of Leo. This is called a combustion when a planet is riding sidekick with the Sun, and called Cazimi when it is exactly conjunct. The Sun always dominates and astronomically is absorbing the energy of the planet, and this weakens the planet so that it cannot do its job properly, and called cazimi when it is exactly conjunct. When it is cazimi, or “in the heart of the Sun”, it is a moment of calm in the storm, and a door of opportunity opens.  The fire sign of Leo is ruled by the Sun, so this especially empowers this planet at this time. We also have Mercury at 14 degrees of Leo, and Venus not far ahead at 20 degrees of Leo. From now until the end of this year the planets will be riding together like this and will build up at December 26th when we have 7 planets in Sagittarius. When Mars is combust the Sun we often will feel angry and violence can erupt at this time. Look to what house in your chart is ruled by the sign of Leo to see how this will affect you. Having Neptune retrograde opposite this in Aquarius is manifesting as this massive category 5 Hurricane Dorian.  It’s interesting that today it slowed down to 1 mph, just like this aspect where the Sun is taking all of Mars’ energy.  Say a prayer for the East Coast.

Happy birthday, Ganesha!!! 🐘🎉🐘🎉🐘 Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chavithi, is an auspicious Hindu festival which is celebrated for 10 days every year. The festival is celebrated in the Bhadra month as per the Hindu calendar which generally falls in mid-August to September. It marks the birthday of the beloved elephant-headed Lord Ganesha.
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi begins on September 2 (Monday) and September 12 (Thursday) marks the Ganesha Visarjan day.

Ganesha is known as the God of wealth, sciences, knowledge, wisdom and prosperity, and that’s why most Hindus remember him and seek his blessings before starting any important work. Lord Ganesh is known by 108 different names like Gajanana, Vinayaka, Vighnaharta among others.

This festival is celebrated with great devotion and joy by Hindus throughout the world. In India, it is majorly celebrated in states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana.

September 4th-Venus Oppose Neptune Retrograde, 23 Degrees Leo

As Venus approaches the end of Leo she makes a direct opposition with the planet Neptune who is retrograde right now in Aquarius. The sign of Leo denotes Royalty, and those in power, whether it be the government or the church. It is also the self, and the individual versus the collective, which is what Aquarius represents. Venus is our values, and it is also love. The esoteric meaning of Venus is as an indicator of water, as it used to be a watery planet like Earth.  I feel at this time on a personal scale we may have a heartbreak as the truth is revealed that has been hidden. On a global scale we may see deceptions revealed as to how individuals within the government or any leadership position put themselves before the values of the collective.  This is a great time to watch some romantic old movies, and reminisce about loves from the past.  We certainly are feeling sad and nostalgic today as we are watching this Hurricane Dorian slowly move up the Atlantic seaboard and perched to land in the Carolinas.  Sending loving thoughts to all who are affected, and remembering family vacations of the past there in South Carolina with fondness are certainly expressions of this energy.  Dorian should make landfall tonight, so it was this Venus/Neptune opposition that triggered the timing of it.

September 7th & 8th-Moon Conjunct Saturn, Pluto and Ketu

As Saturn, Pluto, and Ketu have been traveling together for several months now, I have noticed that when the Moon passes by these planets there is a certain melancholy and sadness in the air. Just take note of these days and know that if you feel depressed today, you’re not alone. Just do something to take the focus off of yourself, and you will feel much better.

September 10th til October 4th-Venus goes into Virgo, Debilitated

Venus goes into Virgo, its sign of debilitation. Here she is very critical in partnerships, and her scrutiny can really be a buzzkill to the love vibe. The reason she is exalted in Pisces is because it is a naturally loving, spiritual and giving sign, and this is the nature of Venus. In the sign of Virgo, she is unable to give freely as she questions everything. It is a funny thing about debilitated planets, though, as sometimes it can show where energy is needed and so therefore, we work on the weaknesses. For instance, for a woman this could be someone who always had health problems, but if other factors in her chart show that she has the will to overcome them, then this will strengthen her Venus. She could end up being the healthiest and most beautiful woman in the room. As Venus is the indicator of the spouse in a man’s chart, he could end up getting a woman who is the most beautiful woman in the room that all of the men look at. Debilitation is not always a bad thing. During this transit we will place more value on our health, and as Jupiter in Scorpio is making a trine to Venus, we could even see funding for medicine get developed at this time that could help the masses.

September 11th-Mercury goes into Virgo, Exalted

The planet Mercury rules media and communication, and rules two signs, Gemini and Virgo. The sign of Virgo is it sign of exultation and its moolitrikona sign, which means this is the sign he does best in. This is because Virgo is an earth sign and the energy here grounds the flightiness of Mercury, and he is able to think much more clearly and follow through with what he says. On this day he will join Venus in Virgo, and as she is debilitated in this sign, I feel that Mercury will strengthen her position. We could see some help with getting our values communicated and understood now.

September 14th, 12:32am EST-Full Moon: 27 degrees of Aquarius, Purva Bhadrapada

-ruled by Jupiter

-good for teaching, counseling, research

This Full Moon takes place in the sign of Aquarius, Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra. This means “the former happy feet” and takes place from 20 degrees of Aquarius to 3.20 degrees of Pisces. The symbol is a sword or two front legs of a funeral cot, or a man with two faces. The deity is Ajaikapada “the one footed goat”, a form of Rudra, the ancient fire dragon. The stars for this nakshatra are in the constellation of Pegasus, the Winged Horse. They are Markab, the star of honors and success but great sorrow; and Scheat, which is the star of literary and poetic ability, but with extreme misfortune. Ajaikapada was the unicorn, related to Rudra god of storms.

On this day of the Full Moon we have Neptune retrograde conjunct the Moon, and this will make our emotions very mystical and even psychic, and telepathic communications will be very strong today. Opposite the Moon we have the Sun still conjunct Mars, and Mars is making a direct opposition to Neptune retrograde at 23 degrees of Leo. This does not bode well for airplane travel, as well as ships, or most automobiles. I feel like there could be some freak accidents today, and the stock market may well take a nosedive at this time. Oil prices will certainly plummet. As the ruler of this nakshatra is Jupiter we should pay attention to transit Jupiter, and he is still in Scorpio and approaching the gandanta zone. I feel like the hurricane season will be amping up at this time, and we may even get a foreshadowing of what’s to come concerning storms when he reaches his gandanta zone of 26.4 degrees on October 18th. In Persian astrology the stars Markab and Scheat refer to the planets Mars and Mercury, so we should pay attention to transit Mars’ and Mercury’s positions. We have already discussed Mars in opposition, but Mercury is making the difficult 6/8 quincunx aspect to the Moon at this time; this does not bode well for any kind of travel or communications. There is a sense of drowning today, and as gandanta implies emotional drowning, we should be very careful.

September 17th-Sun goes into Virgo

Today the Sun goes into the Earth sign of Virgo, happy birthday Virgos! The Sun temporarily moves away from Mars until the 25th and joins Mercury and Venus already in Virgo. This is a happy combination, and the weather in the northern hemisphere is lovely this time of year. Virgo is the indicator of good health, and especially eating healthy foods, so get outside and breathe some fresh air and visit an Apple Orchard, or pumpkin Patch. It’s amazing how being around a field of pumpkins can elevate your spirits! This is an activity I love to do with my daughter, and from September into October while the sun is in Virgo we can enjoy placing emphasis upon improving our diet. Mars is 12 places away from this conjunction for the next week, so be careful of enemies behind your back.

September 19th, 19 degrees Sagittarius-Saturn Direct

Saturn has been retrograde since April 30th, 26 degrees Sagittarius. Although he is going direct today, he will be covering old ground in what is called the shadow. After he goes direct. This lasts until December 24th, but then he will be combust the Sun on the 28th. Saturn is known as the grumpy old man because he is retrograde half of the year. Saturn delays, but he never denies, that’s Mars’ job. In a birth chart Saturn is the indicator of our karma and what kind of work we need to do in this lifetime. While rahu and K2 are the indicators of our fate and destiny and our past life experiences, Saturn shows us in this lifetime where we need to apply some blood sweat and tears to achieve our karmic destiny. Although Saturn has a bad reputation for being a difficult task master, if you do your work well he gives the best rewards. In the birth chart Saturn rules the 10th and 11th houses, and his moolitrikona sign is actually Aquarius, not Capricorn. Saturn does enter the sign of Capricorn on January 24th, 2020. Until then while he still in the sign of Sagittarius he will continue to be conjunct Ketu and Pluto. This has been a very somber and sobering conjunction, not very conducive for romance or fun. This has been a time of letting go of things from the past, especially deep hidden things within our psyche that have come up that needed to heal. Use this time while he still in Sagittarius wisely.

September 19th-Venus goes out of combustion with the Sun

Venus in Virgo steps away from the Sun and at the end of this month will become the Evening Star once again. As Venus is the indicator of love and values, this will give some relief to our love life, and our values in general will feel more protected as the harsh scrutiny of the sun will be waning, and Venus can take her spotlight again. In Greek mythology she is symbolized by Persephone, and during the winter months must go underground to Hades, only to be reborn again in the spring to meet her mother, Demeter. She will still be in the sign of Virgo with the Sun until October 4th when she enters her sign of Libra. Venus is exalted in the sign of Libra, so she is definitely feeling happy to be herself again.

September 21st Mercury goes out of combustion with the Sun

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun so he is often in combustion with the Sun. A lot of astrologers do not pay attention to this combination, but I feel it is important if Mercury is a personal planet for you. This takes the pressure off of our mind and anxieties are much better at this time. Anytime any planet is in alignment with the Sun it makes the Sun erratic and produce a lot of sunspots, which in turn create Corona mass ejections, geomagnetic and cosmic ray storms. If these are occurring in an Earth facing direction then this can mean satellite and electric grid disruption on the planet.  We monitor this with the KP index, a number from 1 to 10 as to how strong the geomagnetic and cosmic ray storms are. If it gets from 5 to 10 points then this can affect mental health, people with heart conditions, and also machines that monitor our health. So, I feel it is something worth noting when any planet goes in and out of combustion with the Sun.

September 25th-Mars goes into Virgo

Mars goes into the Earth sign of Virgo and joins the party with the Sun, Mercury, and Venus. As Virgo is the indicator of health and Mars is the soldier, our energy will be spent on trying to stay healthy. As winter is approaching there have been reports from the Farmer’s Almanac that it will be a very cold and snowy winter, which means the flu season will be bad. Prepare now, and you may mitigate some of these influences.

September 27th-Rahu goes into Ardra

Rahu, the north node of the Moon, has been in the nakshatra of Purnavarsu and now shifts into Ardra. The nakshatra of Ardra is called “the moist one”, and spans from 6.4 to 20 degrees of Gemini; its symbol is the teardrop, diamond or a human head; Rahu rules this nakshatra. The deity that rules Ardra is Rudra the storm god, “the howler”, and is another form of Shiva as the god of destruction. The star that rules Ardra is Betelgeuse, which is situated in the shoulder of the Orion constellation; it bestows power, marital wealth and honors, and creates an active mind with ups and downs in the career. The myth is about Rudra shooting down Prajapati (Orion) to save Rohini (Aldebaran) from sexual violation; this battle destroyed the unity of the cosmos. This nakshatra is known as the “dark night of the soul”, which comes before the dawn of a new day, as seen in the nakshatra of Purnavarsu.

There is a sadness that goes with this part of Gemini, and people that have this prominent in their chart can be very destructive, and sometimes self-sabotaging, but used wisely it can help one to clean out the past and make room for a new future. We need to remember during this difficult transit that we can create something good out of something bad; we can salvage a lesson from the battle. Overcoming hardships and suffering brings a newfound appreciation for the things that they create; remember, fertilizer is nothing more than waste that was discarded. Look at this as a time of preparing the fertile ground; slash and burn techniques of farming are associated with this nakshatra. It’s no wonder the Amazon is burning from using these techniques, and all for the pursuit of money.

This part of Gemini is associated with disease, and as we are preparing for winter in the northern hemisphere we are being forecast a bad winter and flu season. Breakthroughs in medicine can occur now, too; every time Rahu has been in Ardra for the past 18.5 yrs and then 18.5 yrs before that we have had HIV introduced and then a breakthrough medicine. We certainly will seeing disease, mental health and health in general highlighted at this time as Mars is in Virgo, too. Storms and accidents involving water are some ways this energy can manifest, too.

September 28th, 2:26pm EST-New Moon: 11 degrees Virgo, Hasta nakshatra

The new moon today takes place at 2:26 PM EST at 11 degrees of Virgo in the nakshatra of Hasta. It means the hand and spans from 10 degrees to 23.2 degrees of Virgo, and its symbol is a hand or a fist. The deity that rules this nakshatra is Savitri or Surya the sun , and the stars that rule this nakshatra are the five stars representing the 5:00 fingers of the hand in the Virgo constellation. Algorab is a double star situated in Corvus on the right wing of the Crow. This star brings business success, charm, but eventual fall in reputation.

The mythology is about Savitar, the sun god, who had the ability to manifest whatever people wanted and place it into their hands, rather like a genie. He gave life and he also assisted women in childbirth. He was called the Golden Handed, as everything he touched turned to gold. As this nakshatra represents the hand People that have this prominent in their birth chart will often times do things with their hands such as Craftsman, musicians, and even healers such as massage therapists, and Reiki energy healing practitioners. They also may have a hard time letting go as the hand can grasp things, so they could be thieves, or they may have had hardships in their childhood financially. As the Moon is the ruler of this nakshatra these people are very sensitive, and can be clingy.  As Mercury is the ruler of Virgo the native is highly intelligent, attracted to the occult, and palmistry is also an area of specialty.

On this day of the new moon we have 5 planets in Virgo , Mars, the Sun, the Moon, Venus, and Mercury! Also on this exact day we have Rahu at 20 degrees entering Ardra, and opposite him we have Saturn direct at 20 degrees! Both Neptune retrograde and Uranus retrograde are making the difficult 6/8 quincunx aspect to this New Moon, so we could see breakthroughs or breakdowns in the health industry and diseases of the masses. The Great Benefic Jupiter is helping out by giving a nice sextile in the sign of Scorpio which is ruled by Mars, and having Mars situated in Virgo is certainly going to bring some good luck to our health at this time. I feel the main event of this New Moon is the fact that Rahu is now entering Ardra on this day and having this many planets in Virgo is certainly going to lead to some breakthroughs in medicine.  Also, as Venus is debilitated in Virgo, and this is the beginning of Navaratri, or the nine waxing Moon nights of the goddess, we are being asked to strengthen our divine feminine that exists within everyone.  When Venus is debilitated she can find every reason to be unhappy, and highly critical of her partners.  As the goddess Durga is associated with Rahu and is celebrated during Navratri this places even more emphasis upon Rahu now being in Ardra opposed to Saturn.  Shed some tears!  Let go of this need for control of others, and your love partner.  The more you try to control others the more they will resent you.  Hasta is the hand or the fist, and ruled by the Moon it has a Cancerian quality; don’t cling to others for control, let them come to you naturally.

September 28th-Saturn conjunct Ketu 20 degrees Sagittarius

These 2 planets have been conjunct for several months now, but now that Saturn is direct he’s going back over a few of these points again. This aspect has been asking us to let go of things of the past, and also, we are watching our beliefs change, as the sign of Sagittarius rules religions and our belief systems. Saturn indicates authority and organizations, and we’ve seen many changes within churches and religions at this time. There’s been a lot of letting go of old beliefs, and we’ve seen especially the Catholic Church shift quite a bit in the past few years with this knew innovative Pope. There could be more loss of power at this time for leaders within belief centered organizations such as religions, so it behooves all spiritual leaders to watch their back at this time. As this is also the day of the new moon, having Rahu enter Ardra is certainly going to stir up some brewing storms and things will come to a head.
