March 7th-24th: Rahu goes into Gemini, and Ketu goes into Sagittarius

(sidenote for newbies-Rahu and Ketu ALWAYS go backwards from sign to sign)

Here we are, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the changing of the nodes’ signs!  In Vedic astrology the north node of the Moon is called Rahu and symbolizes the material ego with a bottomless pit stomach, the head of the serpent without the body. Ketu is the south node of the Moon and is the spiritual ego that is a selfless martyr but can “lose its head” with anger. Rahu is our current life, and Ketu is our past life. The nodes tell us about our karma and destiny. We’ve had Rahu in Cancer and Ketu in Capricorn for the last 18 months, and now for the next 18 months we will have Rahu in Gemini and Ketu in Sagittarius. Rahu in Cancer has shown us women coming into power and being channels for the Divine Feminine to manifest. As Rahu is a shadow planet, he shows us what was hidden; we saw this in the rise of indigenous females in the US Congress, and in the Me, Too Movement which revealed a hidden but pervasive sex culture of abuse towards women. We also had Jupiter in Libra last year, and Venus was in her own sign of Libra for 3 months! All of this feminine energy gave women the courage to speak their minds about hidden things.

Each nakshatra of Rahu in Cancer and its respective ruling planet shows us the flavor of each period of this transit. The first was Ashleisha, ruled by Mercury, who was gandanta, or drowning, during the summer of 2018 which brought inclement weather in the form of hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires. Pushya ruled by Saturn showed up as a rise in cults, especially beauty brand cults; at the same time transit Saturn was retrograde in Purva Ashada, which is ruled by Venus, so this revealed powerful women in the beauty industry coming forward. On the positive side of this transit we saw beauty brands helping women such as Senegence, Huda Beauty and Thrive Causemetics make an impact in women’s everyday lives around the globe creating a kind of love frenzy. On the negative side we saw religious cults surrounding love and money (Venus) get busted and exposed during this Saturn transit which included a retrograde period, such as the Sedona Community led by Bentinho Massaro, and the film “Wild, Wild Country” about Bagwan Rajneesh, aka “Osho”, and his commune in Oregon. This is because when Saturn is retrograde, we give away our power and authority; in Venus’ nakshatra this is concerning love and money. Then the last nakshatra, Purnavarsu ruled by Jupiter; transit Jupiter was in Libra at the time, highlighting love, peace and feminine power, and then switched to Scorpio, a deeply feminine and creative sign. We had the three phases of women all in a row: The Crone-Ashleisha; The Mother-Pushya; and The Maiden-Purnavarsu, all bringing the wisdom of the Divine Feminine into our lives.

Now we have Rahu going into Gemini so this will shift the energy from the nurturing feminine mother to the inquisitive intellectual prince as Gemini is ruled by Mercury. Rahu is exalted in Gemini; this is what he is here to do, consume! You’d think that Scorpio would be the most sexual and desirous sign, but oh no my friend. Gemini is The Curious Prince who wants to taste all of the delicacies that this earthly plane has to offer, and guess what? That’s what Rahu is here to do, too. Scorpio uses sex as a kind of language; this is their preferred method to get to know others, but they are not necessarily promiscuous with several partners like Gemini is.  This will be a highly creative time for new ideas, and on the mundane realm you could find yourself with many partners if you’re single, or if married then business partners from foreign lands should come to you with innovative thinking. This will amp up social media even more, so be careful of getting dragged into online fights by your emotions. Use this energy to overhaul your communications in all forms; get a new computer, clean up your old one, get a new website, clean up your speech and the way you speak to others. The first nakshatra it’s in is Purnavarsu, which means “return of the light” and is ruled by Jupiter. Here the same themes mentioned above will be brought forth, but now Jupiter will be entering his own sign of Sagittarius just five days after, and so this will empower this period of Rahu. Use this good energy, as you’re going to need it for later. Then Rahu goes into Ardra, whose symbol is the “teardrop”. Probably the most potent nakshatra in Gemini is Ardra, as it is ruled by Shiva the god of destruction; this can come in the force of violence, or in diseases that wreak havoc, such as AIDS. I see this as a dangerous time, as it almost always heralds tragedy. This will be around the time of the eclipses in December, when there will be 7 planets in Sagittarius. Yikes!! Ground and Center. There is a big chance of a lot of forest fires at that time. Then Rahu goes into the last nakshatra of Mrigashira, which is ruled by Mars. Transit Mars, Saturn and Jupiter will all be conjunct in Capricorn at that time making the difficult 6/8 quincunx aspect to Rahu. This is not good. We are in a big shift globally right now, so focus on what’s important, family, friends, home, and let the small stuff go. Why? We can easily get overstimulated during this air sign transit, so use your energy for things that really matter.

Let’s take a look at what happened 18 ½ years ago when Rahu was in Gemini the last time; this will give us some clues as to what to expect over the next 18 months. As Rahu is exalted in Gemini everything that is related to the air element is amped up; communications in all forms, the internet, technology, disease and medicine, winds, storms, extremes in weather, and terrorist attacks.

The last time Rahu was in Gemini was the year 2001. Here are some of the major global events that occurred that year:

India

• An earthquake hits Gujarat, India, causing more than 20,000 deaths
• Gunmen attack the parliament building in the Indian capital, New Delhi leaving At least 12 dead and 22 injured

Netherlands

• The Scottish Court in the Netherlands convicts a Libyan and acquits another for their part in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 which crashed in Lockerbie, Scotland

Iraq

• British and U.S. forces carry out bombing raids attempting to disable Iraq’s air defense network

U.S.

• Timothy James McVeigh is executed for the Oklahoma City Bombing.
• Known simply as 9/11. On September 11, 2001 Nineteen hijackers simultaneously took control of four U.S. domestic commercial airliners. The hijackers crashed two planes into the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York City one into      each of the two tallest towers. Within two hours, both towers      collapsed. The hijackers crashed the third aircraft into the U.S. Department of Defense headquarters, the Pentagon, in Arlington County, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed into a rural field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, following apparent passenger resistance.

Can you see a pattern here? The voracious appetite of Rahu combined with the air element of Gemini produces a never ceasing wind that stirs everything up, but ultimately, it’s for our own good. Notice that 911 happened during the nakshatra of Ardra, meaning “the moist one”, and the symbol of “the teardrop”, which is also ruled by Rahu! Storms cleanse the Earth, but while they’re causing calamities it’s hard to be grateful for them.

Saturn oppose Rahu/Conjunct Ketu on March 7th

On the same day that Rahu and Ketu switch signs we have this very harsh alignment, as Ketu will be joining Saturn and Pluto, and soon after Jupiter, in the sign of Sagittarius. Saturn is authority, Ketu brings loss and denotes spirituality, and Pluto symbolizes the hidden dark subconscious forces. Jupiter coming into this sign will bring some relief, but he will expand the fires, so be careful. This will portend problems and power struggles with authorities, and many in authority positions will lose power, especially spiritual authority positions. This conjunction will last until February 1, 2020. This may pan out as the fall of the Catholic Church because of sex scandals; the Pope may be asked to resign, as he has been a very controversial figure. We have already seen the rumblings of this conjunction with the fall of the Brazilian indigenous faith healer, John of God, being exposed for various heinous crimes including keeping women hostage for an adoption ring; the scandal was exposed at the end of Rahu in Cancer, so again going back to women’s power being given back. There will be massive corruption exposed; the old traditions are decomposing. As Ketu is an indicator of the past and past lives there will be past injustices brought up for healing. So, all this of this may seem negative, but it is for our ultimate good to know the truth. There will be new discoveries in the fields of medicine and astro-physics. We actually have the perfect cosmic climate for the disclosure of ET…FINALLY!!! What our governments have been hiding from us concerning their own experiences with spacecraft not from this world will be exposed. We may even have a “first contact” scenario; I could see the Eclipse of the Century on December 26th as a great time for this to happen. Buckle your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!

Aries

If your ascendant (lagna) or Moon (Chandra) sign is in Aries, then this transit is taking place in your 3rd house of media/communications/siblings/short distance trips/courage. Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 9th house of the father/higher education/long distance trips/luck and fortune, and Saturn rules your 10th and 11th houses of career and communities/great gains/elder siblings. The 3rd house is a kama, or air, house, and so it will light up the trinity of the element, and your other air houses will be activated, which means that which means the emphasis during this transit will be on how we express our needs and desires through relationships. These are the 7th house of partnership, and the 11th house of communities/great gains. Your relationship with your siblings will have some new things happening such as short trips perhaps for a new business, and things will be improved. You will have a lot of courage at this time and try something that you’ve never done, or always wanted to do, and you will have the wind at your back. Go for it! If your ascendant (lagna) or Moon (Chandra) sign is in Taurus, then this transit is taking place in your 2nd house of early childhood/immediate family, the throat/mouth, and money. Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 8th house of transformation/inheritance/inlaws, and Saturn rules your 9th and 10th houses of the father and career. Saturn is a yoga karaka for you (very strong), and going into the 8th house with Ketu. As Rahu is going into your 2nd house, this is an artha (earth) house, and is actually the Taurus house, so this adds even more energy to this transit. Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 7th house of partnership, and Saturn rules your 8th and 9th houses of transformation/inheritance/in-laws and the father/higher education/spirituality/long distance travel/luck and fortune. Rahu in the 1st lights up the dharma (fire) trinity, and the 5th house of talents/children/education/love affairs and 9th house of the father/higher education/long distance travel/luck and fortune will be activated during this transit, which means the focus will be upon our sense of purpose in life and inspiration. When Rahu transits your lagna you will feel everything intensely, as the events of the other two houses are being brought back to you. Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 6th house of service/health, and Saturn rules your 7th and 8th houses of partnership and transformation/inheritance/inlaws.  Rahu in the 12th house lights up the moksha (water) trinity, and the 8th house of transformation and the 4th house of the mother/real estate are activated at this time, which means the emphasis is on spiritual liberation and letting go of the past so you can heal old wounds. This is a great time to go to foreign lands for work or study, as well. Your dreams will be very vividly intense during this Rahu in the 12th transit, as well; perhaps keep a dream journal. Leo

If your ascendant (lagna) or Moon (Chandra) sign is in Leo, then this transit is taking place in your 11th house of larger communities/great fortune/elder siblings. Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 5th house of talents/children/education/love affairs, and Saturn rules your 6th and 7th houses of service/health and partnership. It is imperative that you learn new things in life during this transit; this is a great time to begin a university degree or certification program. You may want to try new spiritual practices. If your ascendant (lagna) or Moon (Chandra) sign is in Scorpio, then this transit is taking place in your 8th house of transformation/inheritance/in-laws.  Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 2nd house, and Saturn rules your 3rd and 4th houses. Rahu in the 8th house lights up the moksha (water) trinity, and the 4th house of the mother/real estate and the 12th house of spirituality/dreams/foreign lands are activated at this time, which means the emphasis is on spiritual liberation and letting go of the past so you can heal old wounds. You may have some difficult issues with your family involving inheritance, and disputes regarding real estate with your siblings. You should receive some kind of money or land through your family but Saturn will delay communications with your siblings and your mother. This may be a good time to study in a different place by leaving your family to foreign lands, as Jupiter will be transiting in Sagittarius in your 3rd house of higher education. If your Moon is in Sagittarius, then you are going through your Sade Sati period where Saturn travels in the sign before, the sign of, and the sign after your Moon sign making things very intense and transformative. Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 1st house of the self/ego/head/outer appearance, and Saturn rules your 2nd and 3rd houses of money and siblings. Rahu in the 7th will activate the other kama (air) houses of the 3rd house of media/communications/siblings/courage, and the 11th house of communities/great gains/elder siblings, which means the emphasis during this transit will be on how we express our needs and desires through relationships. You will have many opportunities to get married if you’re single, or to meet many potential business partners if you’re married. You may take some short distance trips with your spouse. You may marry someone from a different social background, as Rahu indicates anything unusual and the 7th house rules partnerships. You could also be doing business with foreigners.  As Saturn is in your first house and rules the second and third houses you may be feeling depressed about life, and money; be careful regarding documents as this could be a source of your depression. Sacrificing yourself and your time will bring great benefit to you and others, so try to focus on others and you will feel better. Capricorn

If your ascendant (lagna) or Moon (Chandra) sign is in Capricorn, then this transit is taking place in your 6th house. Saturn, the planet of work and delay, and Ketu, the planet of spirituality and loss, will be in your 12th house, and Saturn rules your 1st and 2nd houses. This will activate the artha (earth) trinity and your 2nd house of money/early childhood/immediate family and the 10th house of career will be lit up during this transit of Rahu, which means the emphasis will be on material achievements and work during this time, possibly with close family members. You will want to win competitions at this time, applying for jobs, and working yourself to the bone. You may have to learn some unusual skills for your job, such as traveling to foreign lands. You may make money in foreign lands, and you and your belongings will be going to foreign lands, perhaps in the form of a product that you’ve made. This is a great time to make spiritual pilgrimages to spiritual centers. Your family may protest you going to foreign lands, but you need to listen to your intuition and don’t be swayed by others. Since Rahu is in the promiscuous sign of Gemini in the 6th house of health and while in the nakshatra of Ardra he can bring diseases, if you’re going to be sexually promiscuous you must be careful of STD’s; this is not a time to take risks sexually. Rahu in the 6th can also denote major diseases like cancer, so please get all of your checkups with your doctor and take on a good health and sleep regimen.  Be careful of financial investments losing money; this is not a time to take risks financially. Aquarius

Rahu in the 4th house lights up the moksha (water) trinity, and the 8th house of transformation/inheritance/in-laws and the 12th house of spirituality/dreams/foreign lands are activated at this time, which means the emphasis is on spiritual liberation and letting go of the past so you can heal old wounds. You will feel that your recognition in your career is delayed. Don’t get too worried about limitations in your workplace. You need to relax and go inwards to the home, and work on your home and real estate. You could move to a place that you resonate with the people on a heart to heart basis.
