This November 30th, 2020 the Full Moon Penumbral Lunar Eclipse takes place at 4:30am EST at 14’29” sidereal Taurus, Rohini nakshatra. This means “the red one” and spans from 10 to 23.2 degrees of Taurus, and the symbols are a cart or chariot, a temple, or a banyan tree. The deity that rules this lunar mansion is Brahma, or Prajapati, the Creator of the Universe. This is the “Star of Ascent”, and the stars that rule this nakshatra are in The Hyades, the five stars in the head of the Bull constellation. Aldebaran in particular corresponds with Rohini, as this is the “Eye of the Bull” and is a red star. It gives enthusiasm, intelligence, eloquence, and public honors, but there can be disease and violence. Taurus is ruled by Venus, and Rohini is ruled by the Moon, so these two planets transiting positions are particularly important today, and as this is a Lunar Eclipse, this makes the Moon doubly important, and there should be a lot of lunacy and “loony tune” behavior tonight. Eclipses are shadow points and when they happen they reveal to us things that we did not previously see, so we will definitely find out information regarding the election that we did not know before.
Mythology
Chandra, or Soma the Moon god, had 27 wives, representing the 27 nakshatras, and of all of them, Rohini was his favorite. She was very seductive and beautiful, and he preferred spending time with her, but this made the other wives very jealous. The father, Prajapati, cast a spell on Soma, and made him become ill each month but then recover; this explains why the Moon waxes and wanes its light.

As the “Star of Ascent” this implies the suffering our carnal desires bring us, just as Soma could not resist Rohini. As a result, people born with Rohini prominent in their birth chart are very lusty, passionate, and sexually seductive. As Taurus rules the mouth, and the toddler years, these people love to taste everything, and want to put things in their mouths like children, such as pacifiers, or cigarettes, to nurture this craving. These people often have beautiful faces, and large eyes that draw you in. They love luxury as it is ruled by Venus, and art, music, and fine food are what they live for. They adore the material side of life and can look down upon others who do not live up to their high standards. They often use sex to get what they want, and as their desires are many, they tend to be quite promiscuous. Just as Taurus is the sign of the “work hard, play hard” motto, these people have the strength and fortitude to roll up their sleaves and get the job done, and especially if there is a reward involved. They often have many children, can be wealthy as long as they can put a bridle on their desires.

Fixed star Aldebaran, Alpha Tauri, is a 0.9 magnitude giant orange star in the Left Eye of the Bull, Taurus Constellation. The traditional name Aldebaran is from the Arabic word الدبران (al-dabarān) which means the follower (of the Pleiades). Aldebaran has been thought eminently fortunate, portending riches and honor; and was one of the four Royal Stars, or Guardians of the Sky, of Persia, 5000 years ago, when it marked the vernal equinox.
This is one of the four key stars in the heavens, also called Archangel stars, Michael in this case – military commander of the Heavenly Host. It was also called “Watcher of the East”, possibly since it is the bull’s eye, though each of the Archangels is a “Watcher of”; Gabriel (Fomalhaut) of the South; Raphael (Regulus) of the North; Oriel (Antares) of the West. At one time they marked the two Equinoxes and two Solstices.
To Ptolemy, Aldebaran was a Mars-type star, and indeed the red giant can be mistaken for that red planet at times, so it is no surprise that it has been much associated with war and military careers, and “The Follower”, as its name translates, can well be taken to imply following in the steps of the celestial general, Michael. The idea put forward by some mundane-minded astronomers, that the name means only the star comes soon after the Pleiades star group, makes little sense since every star follows some other in that manner.
In astrological practice, it is not assumed that Aldebaran necessarily promises success in war – unless it is especially well aspected to other items on the horoscope, as opposed to it is the Mars-Jupiter star Antares, for the inclusion of Jupiter in the Ptolemaic styling of this star actually implies more power than Aldebaran. Any general launching an attack with one of the pair in the Ascendant for himself should remember that the other fellow has the other star in HIS Ascendant. Many generals have discounted this even after consulting an astrologer! (And have regretted it).

Aldebaran Transits for Trump and Biden
For President Donald Trump Aldebaran will be in his 10th house of career, and Antares will be in his 4th house of the homeland, indicating that his followers are waging a civil war against the outcome of the recent election. For President Elect Joe Biden Aldebaran will be in his 7th house conjunct his Saturn retrograde exactly, and in mundane astrology the 7th house is the house of the opponent. This means the Biden will be fending off attacks from Trump concerning the election results, but with Saturn retrograde it will be a long, slow death of the old regime.
Lunar Eclipse Transits
For Washington DC, this Lunar Eclipse is taking place in the 8th house at the time of the Full Moon, and this indicates deep transformation and death, and in Venus’s sign of Taurus, it will be concerning our values. Venus is in her own sign of Libra on the lagna, so women will definitely be a huge part of the transformation taking place. We have the first woman and first African-American woman as the US VP Elect, and we have a record number of Republican women in congress now. Regardless of what party is in power, the women have something to say, and this is a massive change in how politics have been up until now.
In the US birth chart this Lunar Eclipse is taking place in the 6th house of health and service, and also open enemies. We know that the pandemic is picking up speed again, and many states are issuing mandatory mask wearing and shutdowns; the US is going into another quarantine. Indeed, Aldebaran’s warlike Mars characteristics are showing their colors at this time, and there will be a lot of civil unrest as a result of the shutdowns as people have Quarantine Fatigue.
The big news recently is that Jupiter is now in Capricorn again conjunct Saturn, and they will be exactly conjunct on December 20th. Jupiter wants to expand everything, and Saturn wants to contract it, so when they come together it is a game changer, a point of manifestation, and a massive change. This happens only once every 20 years, and in the same sign only once every 120 years. This time it is in an earth sign, which indicates governments, and material goods, and oil. This is a time when we are facing globalism vs. nationalism, and indeed we are seeing this play out in the US with the showdown between the Democrats who favor Globalism, and the Republicans who favor Nationalism. Personally, as a Libertarian, I find this standoff fight between the two sides totally repugnant, and I feel both sides should be ashamed of themselves for dividing the country the way they have. The Two Party System is completely antiquated, and we need about 6 candidates to choose from when we vote; until then, half of the country will be unhappy after every election. This has got to change.
Rohini nakshatra is all about the result of the hunt, the chase that is ensued in Mrigashira ends up in the lust of Rohini. Right now, we are on a race, a hunt for the cure to the coronavirus, and they say there are many possibilities in different pharmaceutical companies’ vaccines. This nakshatra may indicate that the hunt is over, and we have a winner. The full effect of the lunar eclipse may show herself in that what was previously undisclosed concerning the vaccine may reveal itself now, and we will finally get some information about what it will be and how we will proceed. Mars is giving his 8th aspect to Venus at this time, and this is a very uncomfortable aspect for them, but it could be the impetus to keep moving. Nothing like a splinter in your finger to make you determined to get it out.
Mercury, the Sun, and Ketu are all in the 2nd house of speech and money, indicating that for DC this lunar eclipse will expose hidden and secret plans about finances, and since we are all still waiting on a stimulus package, this could indicate that we will finally get some news regarding when we all will get it. It will take more than $1500 per person to get us out of this economic crisis we find ourselves in, and just like the election process must change, so too must the banking industry. Cryptocurrency will be the way of the financial future, and once Pluto goes into Capricorn on December 30th we will see more power behind this new way of commerce.
