November 23rd, 2022-NEW MOON 7° Scorpio, Anuradha

This month’s new moon is taking place at 7° of Scorpio, Anuradha nakshatra. This is the Disciple of the Divine Spark, and takes place from 3.2 to 16.4° of sidereal Scorpio. The symbol is a triumphal archway, or a lotus. The deity that rules this lunar Mansion is Mitra, he is one of the Aditiyas, and is responsible for friendship and partnership. This is the “Star of Success”, and the three stars in the body of the Scorpion belong here, as well as Isidis, which is situated and the right claw of the Scorpion. It gives a lack of morals, can bring dishonor, but it will also give interest in the occult, especially astrology. Mitra was the god of friendship and his duty was to help humans to get along. All contracts belong to him, and he gives compassion and devotion. Radha, who is the consort of Krishna, is also associated with this nakshatra, as she is the embodiment of pure devotion.

People that have this star as their Moon, ascendant, or Sun sign, make the best of friends. As in all of the lunar Mansions of Scorpio, there is jealousy and betrayal here, but in this part of the constellation it gives compassion to the natives and they are able to relate with others in their sadness. This is the quality that makes them excellent friends, very sensual and loving, and they really love to accommodate others as well, and make the most hospitable hosts. Their loving nature is the very thing that can get them into trouble, but it is also the thing that helps them to understand others at a very deep level. As Saturn rules this nakshatra, there is a deep brooding depression in them that is hard for them to shed, and so helping others is a way that they relieve this pressure. As Saturn rules the fourth house of the mother, these individuals often have difficulties with their mother, and will eventually live far away from them. Saturn also rules the third house of communication, so expressing themselves may be hard, and they must put extra effort into being understood. They must curb their stubborn tendencies, as when they get into powerful positions they can be a little bit controlling.

This new moon is all about transformation, as literally 5 minutes after the actual occurrence of the New Moon, Jupiter goes direct. Jupiter is guru, he rules philosophy, law, religion, spirituality, children, the spouse for a woman. Jupiter rules millionaires, whereas Venus rules billionaires. Jupiter is a social planet, because he effects several generations with his transit, as he stays in one sign a year. He goes retrograde every year for about 4 to 5 months, so during this time we have to review the things in our life that bring us abundance. Currently he has been in Pisces since April, and in June went retrograde. We can see this in the United States chart through the economic inflation, because wherever Jupiter sits he expands things. Being retrograde means that he is literally brighter in the night sky, and it’s like he’s saying hey, pay attention to me! This has been in the fourth house of the Homeland for the US, and indeed everything has become inflated, inflation has taken over. I feel that this direct motion will give us some relief, that the inflation will stop. My prediction is that when Jupiter goes into Aries next April, because it will be in the fifth house of speculations, such as the stock market, this will show the economy improving. So, from now until April, we still need to be frugal, but I think that the inflation increase has plateaued.

Yes, the Moon is debilitated in Scorpio, but it is at 3° and it’s in the nakshatra of Vishaka, so those issues are not exactly wrapped up in this cycle. The Moon is debilitated in the whole sign of scorpio, however the issues of Vishaka, i.e. the absent mother allowing for sexual abuse to occur with her children without knowing about it, is not here in this nakshatra.

For this New Moon chart the ascendant is Taurus, and we see that we have Mars retrograde there. When Mars is retrograde, we are asked to review things that make us angry, we are asked to look how we move in the world, literally. Mars rules real estate, as he is the soldier who defines territories. We see that the war in Ukraine has not finished, but is definitely coming to a head. Also, the US Southern border has gotten worse since Mars has gone retrograde, and he will go Direct in january, so things will definitely ramp up during this time with boundaries not being observed. Mars and Venus are in a Parivartana yoga, which means that they are exchanging signs. Mars is in Taurus, ruled by venus, and Venus is in Scorpio, ruled by Mars. This makes it so that they are feeling like they are in their own sign, and they operate very well. Venus and Mars are very passionate, and as we just had the solar eclipse in Libra, which is the sign of relationship, I feel that love and romance will definitely be an issue for this New Moon. Perhaps you are transforming something old, or you are letting go of old relationships and beginning anew. I feel that this is a positive New Moon, because even though Venus and Mercury are in a planetary war, there is a feeling of getting past difficulties. There is this push forward, just like a Lotus pushes through the mud to reach the surface of the pond to receive sunlight as nourishment. Be persistent, this is what this star is telling us we need to be successful.
