May 2022 Transits
–May 10th, 7:48am EST-Mercury Goes Retrograde, 10 degrees Taurus, Rohini
• Until June 3rd
Well, here we are again, it’s Mercury retrograde time! This is a time to review, reflect, and renew ourselves, and to rest and not try to start anything new. If you’re traveling, make sure to review your plans now, as there could be some hiccups. For the first week Mars will be giving his 4th aspect to Mercury Rx, so this will make us feel frustrated, and watch your words, as you could get misunderstood easily; Mars can bend the words of Mercury, so think before you speak. Then Mars joins the party in Pisces with Jupiter, Pisces, and Neptune, so he calms down. Good time to focus on meditation and music until he goes direct.
–May 14th, 8:00pm EST-Sun Enters Taurus
The Sun joins Mercury Rx and goes into the earthy sign of Taurus, and steps away from Rahu in Aries. This is a good thing, and should bring some peace and calm to the table. This is a time to catch our breathe and reconnect with nature. Stick your feet into the dirt outside, and soak up some vitamin D, we need the sunshine just like food.
–May 16th, 12:14am EST-FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE, 1 degree Scorpio, Vishaka
We have our first lunar eclipse of the year, and it’s taking place in Scorpio. It’s happening close to the Moon’s debilitation point of 3 degrees, and this will invoke the same themes. What I’ve seen in my clients that have a debilitated Moon close to 3 degrees, Vishaka nakshatra, is that they feel betrayed by their mother, as the Moon is the mother. Sometimes it involves childhood abuse with Scorpio themes of sex and drugs. The mother is the protector, and when debilitated, she fails to protect, often even out of ignorance with no knowledge of the abuse. Whether the mother knows or not, somehow they provided the environment for their child to be abused. So, as it’s happening in the 12th house in the US birth chart, and it’s concerning women, I feel we will hear a lot more about the sexual abuse going on in wartorn Ukraine at this time. There may be more stories in the news about women’s rights, too, especially concerning reproduction. Scorpio’s ruler, Mars, is going to go into Pisces the day after this lunar eclipse, so he will be sitting with Venus again for only one day. Jupiter and Neptune are there, too, so this should help the arts.
–May 17th, 12:03am EST-Mars Enters Pisces
Mars is joining the party in Pisces with Jupiter, Neptune, and Venus for just one day. This feels like a one night stand with Venus, but it could spark some spring flings, and we certainly need to have some fun again. Just be careful around the 23rd when Mars is conjunct the fixed star Scheat, other than that this transit is great for going swimming, to the beach, anything to do with water and healing. Mars here is giving his 8th aspect to Ketu, and this is explosive. Once he enters into Aries next we will see some real potential for nuclear threats. So, use this time while he’s in Pisces to cleanse your mind.
–May 23rd, 10;57am-Venus Enters Aries
• Conjunct Rahu & Uranus
Well, Venus is in Aries now, which brings out Venus’s passionate and fiery nature, and this makes her conjunct Rahu and Uranus. This usually brings up romance and relationship issues, and it could make the economy improve. What’s impeding her flow is that Saturn is now giving his 3rd aspect to her, and Ketu is in Venus’s sign of Libra. Also, the Sun and Mercury Rx are in her other sign of Taurus, neither of which are great for money or love. So, we could see a further downturn once she enters Aries. We shall see how this pans out, but either way while she’s with Rahu all of these issues will come into focus, and we’re being given an opportunity to deal with karma in these areas of our lives.
-May 29th, 6:15am EST-PLANETARY WAR-Mars Jupiter Conjunction, 9 degrees Pisces, Uttara Bhadrapada
Today we have what’s called “graha yuddha”, or planetary war, between Mars and Jupiter. They are fighting over the 9 degrees of Pisces, and Mars always loses, so to pacify him throw some cold water on him literally by engaging in some kind of water sport. Today Jupiter is in his own sign, and Mars is giving his 8th aspect to Ketu, so usually this combination will also us to get a lot done, but some things are getting into the way. Mars is wanting to conquer, but he’s held back; hopefully, this means the laws of Jupiter will prevail, and justice will reign. Jupiter does expand whatever other planet’s energies he’s with, so let’s pray for peace and not war. As John Lennon, said, “give peace a chance.”
–May 30th, 7:31am-NEW MOON, 14 degrees Taurus, Rohini
This feels like it’s going to be a beautiful Full Moon, as Rohini is ruled by the Moon, and with Mercury in retrograde status still, this should feel like time slowing down. They say time stands still when we are really paying attention and in the moment, so I hope that brings us some positivity and joy, we certainly need it.
