We start out the month with this Saturn/Pluto conjunction, now in Capricorn. It’s not an exact conjunction, but now that Pluto has joined Saturn again, we should be feeling an energy shift in the areas of government and disclosure of deep dark secrets. Mercury is still retrograde in Aquarius, and Venus is now in Aries. The Full Worm Moon in Leo on the 9th forces us to be social and is a great time to honor our teachers. Mercury goes direct and the Sun goes into Pisces by the middle of the month, and then we have a Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius, the last party before they both change signs. The New Moon in Pisces on the 24th asks us to be philosophical and meditate on the stories that bring enlightenment. By the end of the month Venus goes into her own sign of Taurus, and then Jupiter enters his sign of debilitation, Capricorn. All of this shuffling of planets is setting us up for the dramatic changes to come this summer and fall. We are being asked to focus on our true purpose in this life and being unwilling to be swayed by what others think of you and your path. Be steadfast and trust in your beliefs, put in the effort and Ganesha will remove the blocks to your destiny!

March 3rd-Venus Goes Out of Gandanta
Venus reaches 3.2 degrees of Aries today, which means she is no longer gandanta. Whatever romantic nostalgia you felt while she was gandanta can now be acted upon. You are now inspired to make those Piscean dreams come true. Having Uranus conjunct Venus now means that you could have sudden meetings with others that could spark a new relationship, whether business or romantic.

March 9th, 1:48pm EST-Full Worm Moon: 25 degrees Leo, Purva Phalguni

Today’s Full Moon takes place at 25 degrees Leo in the nakshatra of Purva Phalguni, which means “the former reddish one”. It spans from 13.2 to 26.4 degrees of Leo, and the symbol is the front legs of a bed, a hammock, and a fig tree. The deity that rules this lunar mansion is Bhaga, the god of marital bliss and prosperity. This is called the “Star of Fortune”, and the star that belongs to Purva Phalguni is Zosma, which is located in the back of the Lion constellation; it is a star of egotism and self-indulgence. The Sun rules Leo, and the planet that rules this nakshatra is Venus, and in Persian astrology it is Saturn and Venus.

The mythology of the Phalguni nakshatras is about them being the “marriage mansions”. Venus’ sign of Taurus in the nakshatra of Rohini starts the love and attraction, and they settle down and get married here. Marital happiness and family inheritance are given by Bhaga here, and Lord Shiva began his marriage procession in Purva Phalguni. People born with this nakshatra love to rest and relax; they never worry and rely on their luck. They are usually attractive, and just like the Sun that rules Leo they shine and are the center of attention at every party, which are many as this is called “the party nakshatra”. They are very social, kind, generous and loyal and will have many friends. Their love of life can lead to indulgences and excess, but they enjoy a strong healthy body, but they may be vain. These people are very artistic, and love to express their creativity through music and dance. Placed well in a chart this nakshatra can indicate a substantial family inheritance.

Current Transits
On this day of the March 2020 Full Moon it’s also a Super Moon and the Festival of Colors called Holi in India; we have the Moon isolated away from the other planets, and this is not a happy place for her; the Moon gets very lonely without the company of the other planets, so try to get out and mingle today. Most of the planets are on the other side of the sky, and it looks like a stand-off.

The Sun is in Aquarius, Purva Bhadrapada, and is sitting with Mercury Retrograde and Neptune; the Crown Princess cruise ship is finally allowed to come ashore at Oakland, California today with passengers who tested positive for the Coronavirus. Notice that opposite Mercury in Aquarius right now is Magha nakshatra in Leo; this is the throne of the King or Queen, which is what “corona” infers, as the virus has a crown shape. This indicates information from the past concerning hidden subjects, or things that were hidden from you, will surface at this time; romantic delusions are crushed with this conjunction, but it’s better to know the truth.

Rahu is in Ardra, and Ketu is in Mula, and the last time it was there was 911; Gemini is associated with diseases, and many mysterious diseases were experienced by survivors of this tragedy. In 1983 Rahu was in Ardra, and HIV was discovered; nobody knew how it was transmitted, and that’s what is happening currently with the coronavirus. As Mercury Retrograde is in Dhanishta nakshatra, this indicates depression and sadness, which comes from being empty inside and feeling alone; indeed, many are in quarantine at this time due to disease.

On the positive side, this is an excellent time for dance and music if you’re an artist, and projects from the past may come to you now to finish. Aquarius’ ruler Saturn is sitting with Pluto now indicating secret power dealings that will be disclosed; lies and deceit will surface. Mercury will go direct tonight at 11:48 pm EST, so we can all relax, which is what this nakshatra wants us to do.

As Venus rules Purva Phalguni we see that transit Venus is in Aries with Uranus, and that disposits to Mars who is conjunct Jupiter and Ketu. There is a lot on intensity here and focus on repeating past lessons from our teachers. A positive way to channel this energy would be to have a party for our teachers, or to honor them in some social way. I think it’s significant that Rahu is at 11:11 Ardra at the moment of the Full Moon; pay attention to spirit messages at this time. You may not understand it at the time, but later the message will make more sense to you.

March 9th-Mercury Goes Direct
We can all breathe a sigh of relief as Mercury goes direct today at 11:48pm EST at 4:04 degrees Aquarius, Dhanishta nakshatra. This is occurring right after the Full Moon earlier in the day, so I bet some kind of breakthrough will manifest tonight. People with their ascendant or Moon in Aquarius or Leo should feel this shift the most.

March 15th-Sun Goes Into Pisces
The Sun goes into Pisces today, which is not a strong place for him. He is stepping away from Mercury and Neptune, which will place the emphasis now onto Jupiter, who rules Pisces. Transit Jupiter is still with Mars and Ketu in Sagittarius, so there will be a lot of fighting for beliefs and religions.

March 16th-April 2nd: Kala Sarpa Yoga
Kala Sarpa Yoga means “time serpent connection”, and this occurs when all of the planets are between Rahu and Ketu. This will happen between March 16th to April 2nd, and events that happen now will have a fated quality. Since Rahu is in Ardra and indicates disease I think we will see more of this coronoavirus play out, as in 1983 when Rahu was here we saw the HIV pandemic.

March 20th-Mars and Jupiter Conjunct in Sagittarius, 7:08am EST
Today at 7:08 am EST we have the soldier planet, Mars, conjunct his friend, Jupiter, at 28 degrees of Sagittarius, Uttara Ashada nakshatra. Where Jupiter goes, he expands things, and sitting with Mars in the sign of religion means that we will fight for our beliefs, whether it be sacred or secular. Mars and Jupiter are in what’s called a planetary war, so there is a feeling of struggle and fighting for our religion today; there are no atheists in the bunker, and we are certainly there now. “Graha Yuddha” is a term in Vedic Astrology that means a war between two planets; this occurs when two planets are within one degree of each other, either in the same sign or in adjacent signs. This can be happen in only in five planets; Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The planet which holds the lower degree is the winner, and the planet that has the high degree is the loser. Up until today Jupiter has had the upper hand, but after today Mars will be the winner. This means it is imperative to watch our speech! I think everyone will be fighting even more than before about what the origins are of the coronavirus, but no one knows for sure; we all want to feel in control, and so Mars will try to achieve that. The sign of Sagittarius has a tendency to put their foot in their mouths all the way up to their hip; bite your tongue right now. Uttara Ashada is ruled by the Sun, and transit Sun is in Pisces with Mars giving it’s 4th and strongest aspect to it; this means that authority figures have really got to watch what they say at this time, as it will do more harm than good. Saturn is giving the Sun his 3rd and strongest aspect, so this shows that the Sun, the government, is impeded to do its full responsibility at this time. Jupiter is also sankranti, or on the cusp, of going into Capricorn at this time, his sign of deblilitation; beware of false hopes at this time. This is Ganesha’s nakshatra, and since there is no success without his blessings, we must do our mantras to him to clear the path and remove the obstacles. ~Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha~

At this point we will know who the Democratic presidential candidate will be, but this alignment could indicate a real Civil War between parties. The sign of Sagittarius indicates the Democratic party as its symbol is a donkey, and Sagittarius is half horse in the form of a centaur, so they are represented here. The nakshatra of Uttara Ashada has Ganesha as one of its deities, and as the elephant is the symbol of the Republican party, we see them represented here. Uttara Ashada means the “latter unconquered”, and shows eventual victory, but for which party is unclear with this alignment. I feel that once Jupiter goes into its sign of debilitation at the end of the month the Democrats will suffer, and the power will remain in the Republican party, as Saturn is in Uttara Ashada. Both Mars and Jupiter do great in Sagittarius, so I feel this is the last party before the both enter Capricorn, where Mars is exalted, but Jupiter is debilitated.

Here are some historical events from some of the last times this conjunction or opposition happened; we are sure to see a recurrence of these themes:

April 8th, 2008, we had a Jupiter in Sagittarius, Mula opposition to Mars in Gemini, Ardra.

  • Putin is elected leader of Russia’s leading political party on April 15th.
  • The Olympic torch was protested during the World Relay to begin the Olympics.
  • The inquest verdict of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed was read; it was found that they were unlawfully killed due to “gross negligence” by their driver, Henri Paul, and the Paparazzi.

December 7th, 1995, we had the last Jupiter/Mars conjunction in Sagittarius.

  • The Grateful Dead break up after lead singer, Jerry Garcia’s, death the previous August.
  • US Space probe Galileo begins orbiting Jupiter; it had been launched six years earlier.

October 13th, 1984, we had an exact Jupiter/Mars conjunction in Sagittarius.

  • President Reagan was renominated and then re-elected as US President on November 7th.
  • Apple introduced the Macintosh computer that year.
  • STS 41-G mission lands at Kennedy Space Center. STS-41-G was the 13th flight of NASA’s Space Shuttle program and the sixth flight of Space Shuttle Challenger.

March 22nd-May 4th-Mars Goes Into Capricorn, exalted
On March 22nd at 5:32am EST Mars enters the sign of Capricorn stepping away from Jupiter and Ketu and joining Saturn and Pluto now. Mars is exalted in Capricorn, meaning that he does his best work here. This is because Mars is action, and in the Earth sign of Capricorn that action has stable growth, which leads to success. There is no success without Lord Ganesha’s blessing, and he is one of the deities that rules the first nakshatra of Capricorn, Uttara Ashada. Saturn is actually an enemy of Mars, but here they work very well together. The Saturn/Pluto conjunction has been bringing forth dark secrets of power institutions across the globe, but now that Mars is there, we will see action taken towards bringing the truth to light. Mars’s strongest aspect is his fourth, and he is giving that to Venus in Aries at this time, and Aries is ruled by Mars. This could manifest as romantic passion, or just the kind of feel-good energy that is the creative juice of any artistic project.

March 24th, 5:28am EST-New Moon-VEDIC NEW YEAR: 10 degrees, Pisces, Uttara Bhadrapada

Happy New Year! On March 24th, 2020 at 5:28am EST we have the New Moon in Pisces at 10 degrees, Uttara Bhadrapada nakshatra, which is also the Vedic New Year. It means “the latter happy feet” and spans from 3.2 to 16.4 degrees of Pisces, and the symbols are twins, back legs of the funeral cot, or a snake in the water. The deity that rules this lunar mansion is Ahir Budhyana, the Serpent or “Dragon of the Deep”. The star that rules Uttara Bhadrapada is Algenib, which is on the tip of the wing of the Pegasus constellation; it gives great oratorical abilities, intelligence and a responsible disposition. The planet that rules Pisces is Jupiter, and the planet that rules this nakshatra is Saturn.

The mythology of Uttara Bhadrapada is about Ahir Budhyana as the serpent of the deep waters, which represents isolation, kundalini and psychic energy. Agni, the god of fire, is important in this nakshatra, because he represents the cleansing power of fire. This is called “The Warrior Star”, because it gives discipline with writing and speaking abilities. This lunar mansion is much milder than the former nakshatra, Purva Bhadrapada, and they can control their fiery nature better here. They tend to be lazy, but they are very self-sacrificing to those around them, are generally happy, and love to give and protect their loved ones. These people need their alone time, because they love to meditate, and also daydream and let their mind go on journeys; they make excellent storytellers. They have a yearning to tap into the divine wisdom, and to share it with others; they have a magical quality that draws people to them. They usually have a happy homelife and make great parents, so children are a must here. Often later in life they come into an inheritance, and great wealth is possible.

On this day of the March New Moon in Pisces we have the Sun and Moon sitting between two benefics, Mercury in Aquarius, and Venus in Aries. The outer planets Neptune and Uranus are there, as well, but I feel they will act like amplifiers and increase the good energy. Saturn is in Capricorn giving his strongest aspect, the 3rd, to this New Moon, and Mars is giving his fourth aspect to Venus. This all means that the air is ripe with creativity and new ideas, and there is an opportunity to increase joy and abundance in your life at this time! As this nakshatra is isolated in the deep waters it’s no coincidence that many across the planet are in quarantine, and now many US states are doing mandatory stay at home with only essential businesses being allowed to stay open. This is a scary time, but we must use this time to connect with the serpent in the deep that has the medicine for healing. Jupiter and Ketu are both giving their fifth aspect to Venus today, so give thanks and honor your past teachers, and keep a positive attitude. Don’t forget to give credit where credit is due; always give respect to your elders and remembering that today will be an excellent expression of this aspect. As Pisces rules film, and Uttara Bhadrapada is the best storyteller, watching a great film today would be an active way to celebrate this New Moon. Today is the start of a new cycle, what story are you telling about your life?

March 28th-Venus Goes Into Her Sign of Taurus
At 6:28am EST Venus enters her own sign of Taurus. While Libra is her moolitrikona, or best, sign, in the Earth sign of Taurus we see how Venus works hard and plays hard. It is significant this year, because she will go retrograde on May 13th and stay in the sign of Taurus until July 31st, and Rahu will go into Taurus on September 19th. I feel this will give a very Venusian energy to this year, even though Saturn and Jupiter are having a triple conjunction. Looking forward to May 22nd and 23rdit should be an interesting few days, as the Moon will be in Taurus, its sign of exaltation, and the Sun, and Mercury will be there, too; Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto will all be retrograde at that time, so with Venus retrograde on top of it you may find out the truth about a relationship, but it’s better to know now rather than later. Venus retrograde tends to bring past old flames to either rekindle the romance, or to put out the spark. You can also either have money that is owed to you paid off, or you could lose money. If your ascendant or Moon is in Taurus or Scorpio, you will feel this retrograde in Taurus the most.

March 29th-Jupiter Goes into Capricorn, debilitated
Jupiter goes into the Earth sign of Capricorn on March 30th on March 29th at 6:25pm EST. This is his enemy’s sign, Saturn, and it is his sign of debilitation, meaning that it is very difficult for Jupiter to do his job here. Today he is joining Saturn and Mars, and for the rest of this year Jupiter and Saturn will be doing a dance between Sagittarius and Capricorn. When these two planets come together it is a Game Changer, a point of manifestation, and growth is inevitable. The areas that will be growing and changing will be religions/beliefs, and government/authorities and traditions. Jupiter is Guru, and where he sits, he expands things, and as the Great Benefic he brings good luck and fortune. Saturn wants to contract everything, so having Jupiter in Capricorn means that our abundance and prosperity will be withheld and delayed; Saturn delays, but he never denies, that’s Mars’ job. So once Jupiter goes retrograde on May 14th and then goes back into Sagittarius on June 30th, we may be frustrated with getting things done; look to what house is in the sign of Capricorn to see what area of life will be affected. Jupiter goes direct at 23 degrees of Sagittarius on September 13th, and then will enter Capricorn again on November 20th.

The last time Jupiter entered Capricorn was December 9th, 2008. The stock market had just crashed on September 29th that year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 777.68, which was the largest single-day low in Dow Jones history until recently when the coronavirus fear made the Dow drop over 1,000 points. It took 8 years for the Dow to recover in 2016. In 1963 the Dow tanked after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. I think we can anticipate that the stock market will take a nosedive once Jupiter enters his sign of debilitation today.

So, from June 30th to November 20th we have a window of time to get all things Jupiter cleaned up. That would be:

  • Spiritual teachers
  • Guides
  • Truth and philosophy
  • Faith and religion
  • Spirituality
  • Grace
  • Law
  • Fortune and wealth
  • Expansion
  • Higher education
  • Optimism
  • Generosity
  • Joy and luck
  • Self-indulgence
  • Excess
  • Money
  • Long distance travel
  • Children
  • For a woman, a husband

Jupiter in Capricorn through the 12 Signs:
Read this from your Ascendant (lagna) or Moon sign.

Aries-10th house: Jupiter rules your 9th and 12th houses. He goes into your 10th house of reputation in your career. You may feel frustrated in your career, but you must persevere; just keep working hard and Saturn will reward you! The recognition you crave will come to you, but probably not until next year.

Taurus-9th house: Jupiter rules your 8th and 11th houses. He goes into your 9th house of religion/beliefs, higher education and long-distance travel. Having Jupiter in his own house here actually will be good for you. Even though he is debilitated, you should have some elder teachers come to you at this time. You may not appreciate their wisdom until later.

Gemini-8th house: Jupiter rules your 7th and 10th houses. He goes into your 8th house of transformation and other people’s money. Jupiter in your 8th house could bring an inheritance to you; children will bring good luck and fortune to you. Jupiter opposite your 2nd house could bring money owed to you. This could be in the form of books or anything to do with higher education, such as from teaching, etc.

Cancer-7th house: Jupiter rules your 6th and 9th houses. He goes into your 7th house of relationships. As the 7th house rules relationships, both romantic and business, having Jupiter the Guru enter this area of your life means that you will meet someone important to you and they will be a great teacher to you. If you’re a single woman you could meet your future husband very easily; if married, then a serious business partner who has the same vision as you will appear. For a man you could form a partnership with someone in business who acts like a guru in your field.

Leo-6th house: Jupiter rules your 5th and 8th houses. He goes into your 6th house of service and hands-on work. As Jupiter loves food, often when he is in this house working in restaurants is common; if your Venus is there, it could be or include a bar or nightclub. Leo loves to be the center of attention, so having Jupiter debilitated in your workplace means you may not feel you’re getting the recognition for your hard work; perhaps someone is copying you or stealing your information. This is temporary, but it’s no fun while it’s happening, especially for the King or Queen! Watch out for weight gain at this time.

Virgo-5th house: Jupiter rules your 4th nd 7th houses. He goes into your 5th house of education, children and creativity. As Jupiter is the karaka, or indicator, or children, when he is debilitated in Capricorn you may have a hard time conceiving if you are trying to start a family. If you’re in school or a teacher, you may feel frustrated in your work; perhaps you feel no one is paying attention to your teaching or your writings, but just keep working, because next year it will come to you.

Libra-4thhouse: Jupiter rules your 3rdand 6th houses. He goes into your 4th house of the mother, the home and real estate. Jupiter here loves to give big houses, and the mother is a spiritual guru. Having him debilitated in Capricorn means that he is delaying the purchase of real estate, or if already purchased then the sale of it. The spirituality of the divine feminine may not be recognized and this causes dissatisfaction; don’t give up or give in. Children may be in the home, whether young or adults. Watch out for weight gain at this time.

Scorpio-3rd house: Jupiter rules your 2nd and 5th houses. He goes into your 3rd house of media/communication, siblings and short distance travel. You may be having a hard time getting your point of view across to others, and you feel exasperated from this. Money may be withheld from you at this time. You also may feel frustrated your education; just keep working on your classes, and the work will show itself in time.

Sagittarius-2nd house: Jupiter rules your 1st and 4th houses. He goes into your 2nd house of money, the face, and the mouth. As he is debilitated in Capricorn you may not see the money you’ve earned at this time; it will eventually come to you, so try not to worry too much. You may not be able to speak your mind right now; or you may be completely misunderstood by any attempted speech at this time. You will be heard later, so try not to let yourself get upset.

Capricorn-1st house: Jupiter rules your 12th and 3rd houses. He goes into your 1st house of the head, the self, and the appearance. Jupiter has dig bala, or directional strength, in the 1st house, but in his sign of debilitation he can’t give his full benefic powers. You could have some weight gain now, or have some issues with eating, such as disorders or allergies. What you eat may be slowing you down.

Aquarius-12th house: Jupiter rules your 11th and 2nd houses. He goes into your 12th house of isolation, dreams and foreign lands. Jupiter could bring you a spiritual guru from foreign lands, or you could be traveling abroad for your religion, school or any philosophy. You could be putting yourself into self-imposed isolation to get some studying done. Money that is owed to you will be withheld right now, but next year it will come back to you, so try not to worry.

Pisces-11th house: Jupiter rules your 10th and 1st houses. He goes into your 11th house of elder siblings, communities and great gains. Your gurus in your career will come to you at this time, but you may feel like you can’t get your point across to them, or the work you do isn’t recognized. Just keep working and next year you will finally feel recognized in your work community, so just be patient and keep working. Money from elder siblings may be withheld for now.

March 31st-Saturn/Mars Conjunction, 6 degrees Capricorn, Uttara Ashada
Mars is the planet of action, and Saturn is the planet of delay, and today they are conjunct; there is a lot of potential for frustration right now, especially as it seems that the entire planet is on a stay at home order quarantine at this time. Even though Mars and Saturn are in a planetary war with this alignment, I think this is going to be an excellent day to get things done! Saturn in his own sign, Mars in his sign of exaltation, and in Ganesha’s nakshatra means that the path will be cleared, and the obstacles removed so that you can achieve success. Long term projects will receive this boost of energy, so use this time wisely. There is real potential for success where carefully applied strength and patience is given. Jupiter and Pluto are also in Capricorn now, so dig deep to find the inspiration and it will be there! Keep your eyes on the prize and be steadfast in your efforts, just as our elders taught us. Since we cannot go outward, go inward; use this time to study that topic you’ve never had the time for, get some writing done on the book you always wanted to write, or get the house cleaned out of things you don’t need! The antidote to depression is to not focus on yourself, but focus on others; there are many in need right now, so put some energy into charity work. Mars is giving his 4th aspect to Uranus today, so there is the potential for the frustration to turn into a violent explosion; don’t let it, channel the energy, and let Shani guide you.
