Neptune in Sidereal Aquarius
The sidereal zodiac is the “real star” placement of the celestial bodies; so when you look up at the sky with your phone using a sky map, that is the sidereal zodiac. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which pushes the planets and stars forward roughly 23.5 degrees.
On June 23rd, 2020 at 12:32 am EST Neptune goes retrograde at 26 degrees of Aquarius, Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra. While traditional Vedic astrology does not use the outer planets, I have found after doing Western astrology for over 30 years that they do indeed work. Some Neo-Vedic astrologers say that you should not use the nakshatras if you do use the outer planets, but again, the proof is in the pudding. I have found that the nakshatras do work with the outer planets; why, I could not tell you, but they do work.
Neptune’s Karakas
Neptune is very mystical, and indicates secret hidden things, but is also the master of illusion, deceit, and denial. The outer planets represent the collective subconscious, and as they stay in a sign for so long, they affect a whole generation. Neptune indicates:

- Disease
- Liquids
- Gases
- Drugs (illicit and pharmaceutical) & Alcohol
Neptune in Aquarius
Aquarius is ruled by Saturn in Vedic astrology, and so since Neptune has been in this sign since 2010 and will be until 2023, we have seen scandals and secrets of governments around the world exposed.
Analysis
On July 3rd Neptune retrograde will be trine Mercury in Gemini; as Mercury was retrograde for the solar eclipse of June 22nd, and we have another lunar eclipse in Sagittarius, Purva Ashada, on July 5th, this is a significant aspect. For Washington D.C., the eclipse happened in the 3rd house, and this serpent or naga is Vasuki, the twister of tales and churner of words spinning lies. We see that there is a book being written against the president by someone that was formerly in his staff, Bolton, and having Neptune retrograde shows the lies that are circulating in writing, Mercury. It will be all truly clear when Neptune is retrograde, as this uncovers the secrets that he is hiding when he is direct. Storms this summer will be intense and dramatic, and this is going to be a bad hurricane season.
Neptune also rules drugs, pharmaceutical and illicit; so, we could be dealing with a massive drug problem this summer as people have been depressed and staying home. He rules oil, too, so gas prices could tank now. Venus will be trining Neptune retrograde on August 27th, so on a personal level we could find out lies about relationships, and romantic delusions will crash hard. On September 19th Neptune will trine Mercury in Virgo, and this is the day that nodes are switching signs from Gemini to Taurus and Sagittarius to Scorpio; this is square aspect and shows hardship. On October 22nd Mars retrograde goes back into Pisces, and this places Neptune retrograde 12 houses away right at his back; they are both at 24 degrees. This indicates repressed anger (Mars retro) taking action against lies and deceit being exposed (Neptune retro). Hang on tight, it is going to be a bumpy ride now through November 4th, the US presidential election. On December 5th Neptune is direct and will be at 24 degrees aspecting Mars direct in Pisces, so expect there to be unrest and violence at this time.
