We have a passionate month ahead!  Our New Moon in Rohini is starting the month off with a bang with Mercury and Mars conjunct Rahu and opposite the Saturn/Ketu/Pluto conjunction heating up tempers and sensuality.  This is the month for transformations and breakthroughs as we get to the root of the problem with the Full Moon in Mula nakshatra.  This is the Strawberry Moon so passions are high!  As we approach the eclipses of July we may feel the energy early, so being aware can help you to not force your opinions or beliefs onto others.  Go with the flow of Mercury and Mars when they go into Cancer; fighting it will only hurt you.

June 1st-Mercury enters Gemini

Mercury goes into one of his signs, Gemini, and so our communications and travel would normally get smoother now. He is going to be conjunct Mars and Rahu, though; this could mean disruptions, accidents or even terrorism when it comes to planes, trains and automobiles. Also, on a personal level while getting our point across with what we believe (Sagittarius) might be easier now, try not to shout to get your point across. Having Saturn retrograde, Pluto retrograde and Ketu all opposing this brings out the rageholics. Use the discretion of Saturn and observe others’ speech around you and don’t get involved in their drama. Having Mercury in this conjunction feels like Mercury retrograde on steroids, so try not to have an anxiety attack by keeping a regular schedule for your diet, exercise and sleep routines.

June 3rd- 6:02am EST, New Moon: 19 degrees Taurus, Rohini

This New Moon takes place in the sign of Taurus, Rohini nakshatra at 19 degrees at 6:02am EST. Rohini means “The Red One”, and its symbol is the cart or chariot, a temple, and a bhanyan tree, and spans from 10 to 23 degrees of Taurus. The deity that rules this nakshatra is Brahma, or Prajapati, The Creator of the Universe. The stars that belong to Rohini are the five stars in the head of the bull, and particulary Aldebaran, a bright orange star. When you look into the night sky in the winter in the northern hemisphere you can see Aldebaran to the left of the Pleiades and to the right of Orion. The mythology speaks of the Moon (Soma) who loved Rohini so much that he spent more time with her than her other 27 sisters who became very jealous. Their father, Prajapati, punished Soma by making him sick every month then come back to life, hence the New Moon. How interesting that this New Moon is in this nakshatra. People born with this nakshatra strong in their birth or navamsa charts are often the victims of other people’s jealousy. This is a very sensual sign being in Taurus, and shows the kind of earthy sexiness that Taureans are known for; being very beautiful inside and out they have a gift for embodying the divine feminine. Our passions and desires can bring us suffering, however; this nakshatra teaches us the Buddhist principle of non-attachment to this world of materiality, and that is our attachments that make us suffer. Being “The Star of Ascent” shows the worldly aspirations and achievements it can bring, but we must keep our ego in check.

Taurus is ruled by Venus, and she is in Aries along with Uranus. As this is a very sensual nakshatra, and is also ruled by the Moon, on a personal level love will be the theme. Venus is in Krittika nakshatra, and here her need to protect reveals the warrior within; channeling love into a higher purpose or to help others is an excellent way to use this energy. Since the star Aldebaran which rules Rohini is the eye of the Bull in the Taurus constellation in Persian astrology we can look to Mars as an indicator of how this energy will play out, as well.

As transit Mars is sitting with Mercury and Rahu the tension will be high in the air, and they are aspecting the Moon with the difficult 2/12 aspect, so focus on spirituality. It is easy for us to fall into depression with Saturn retrograde, Pluto retrograde and Ketu all in opposition.

Let’s not ignore Jupiter retrograde in opposition to the New Moon. Jupiter is Guru, and when a planet is retrograde it is brighter in the sky than others. He is asking us to focus on the teachings of our gurus to sustain us during this tumultuous time. Activities such as chanting mantras are a powerful tool at this time, as they get lodged in our subconscious they will help us in our darkest hour just like music. As Rohini is very sensual and loves art it is also a great time to use music to help us center our emotions.

June 4th-Venus goes into Taurus

Venus is happy to leave the fire sign of Aries where she feels awkward to one of her own signs of Taurus. As an Earth sign this energy will help to ground us, and as she is now in opposition to Jupiter we will be able to harness the teachings of our gurus and make them practical. Here in the US Midwest the farmers have not planted one seed as of June 1st because of the rain; maybe now that Venus is in Taurus with the Sun helping to dry things out they can try to plant and make the best out of a bad situation.  Notice that it was when Jupiter was gandanta in Scorpio that we had all of the rain; now he is out of his gandanta zone and opposite Venus so we are drying out the Earth from the incliment weather of that time.

June 11th-Sun and Jupiter opposition

Here in the final days of the Sun being in Taurus we have an exact opposition with Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio. As the Sun will be joining Mars, Mercury and Rahu in a few days, and Jupiter is retrograde, I feel we will get a foreshadowing of what is to come with spiritual leaders and governments loss of power that will be brought forth during the eclipses next month. Pay attention!

June 14th-Rahu, Mercury and Mars oppose Ketu, Pluto and Saturn retrograde

This has been going on for awhile, but on this day this opposition is exact. Mars the unstoppable force is being asked to a duel with Saturn the immovable object; it’s a stand off at the OK Corral, but each side brought friends to help. Mars, Rahu and Mercury in Gemini is adding fuel to the fire that Saturn retrograde is in with Ketu by creating a whirlwind; Mercury will reveal hidden things that our leaders have been keeping from us at this time. Mars is showing us how forcing our beliefs onto others will not only backfire but cause the belief system to lose authority.

June 16th-Sun enters Gemini

The Sun moves to Gemini and joins Mars, Mercury and Rahu squaring up for next month’s eclipses. As the Moon in Sagittarius is about to be full the next day we are getting a taste of what is to come next month for the eclipses.  While the Sun is conjunct three other planets he is far enough away in degree to not combust them. While the Sun generally does well in Gemini he is now having his light obscured by Rahu so our thinking and energy may be clouded at this time. Try to gain some mental clarity now in regards to what houses the eclipses are taking place in your chart at this time. Our life force is the Sun; charge your battery by getting into the sunshine and absorbing it’s frequency which vibrates at 432 hz and is the sound of the “ohm”.

June 17th- 4:31am EST, Full Strawberry Moon: 2 degrees Sagittarius, Mula

The Full Moon this month is taking place at 4:31am 2 degrees Sagittarius, Mula nakshatra.  This means “The Root” and spans from 0 to 13.2 degrees of Sagittarius, and its symbol is a bunch of sticks tied together, or an elephant goad, which gives the elephant direction. The deity that rules this nakshatra is Nirriti, the goddess of desolation and destruction; the planet that rules Mula is the Ketu. This nakshatra is located in the tail of the Scorpion, and the star Lesath gives keen discernment, a spiritual nature, and oftentimes brings people into the public eye. The mythology is of Nirriti as Kali the goddess who destroys our illusions and helps us to see the truth. The Galactic Center is here in the nakshatra, and that is the ultimate creative and destructive force of our galaxy. There is new research depicting a picture of the black hole at the center of our galaxy, but according to the Thunderbolts Project group this is not accurate; according to plasma physics it is a plasmoid, and in this video you can learn more about it: Wal Thornhill: Black Hole or Plasmoid? | Space News. The astrological significance is that we should think of the Galactic Center as a wormhole that takes us to other places in the Universe fast; rather like a teleportation device instead of an inferno that leads to hell. Every star’s center links to the galactic center; just think about that for a minute.

In Persian astrology the tail of the Scorpio constellation corresponds to Venus, and she is transiting in the sign of Taurus during this Full Moon making the difficult 6/8 quincunx aspect to the Moon/PlutoR/SaturnR/Ketu conjunction. Venus is also in the 2/12 aspect to the Sun/Rahu/Mercury/Mars indicating loss and deep spirituality. The Full Moon next month will also be a Partial Lunar Eclipse, but at the end of Sagittarius. This June Full Moon is also called the Strawberry Moon as the fruit is ripe at this time and showing the passionate nature of Rohini, The Red One at the New Moon being built up to the fire energy of Mula at the Full Moon; being this is in the nakshatra of Mula “the roots” we are being asked to get to the root of a big problem surrounding our beliefs and how we communicate and interact with others. Religion is meant to provide a sense of community and togetherness, but when you force your beliefs onto others it causes a big divide, which is the opposite of what it’s meant to do. Reflecting on what we believe at this time and getting to the root of why we believe what we do will help us to heal.

In Animal Medicine Totems Mula is badger medicine; badgers dig for roots and people with this medicine strong are great healers, as they will dig for the cure to help their patients, and their tenacity keeps them up all night with their patients until they are healed. Be like badger and dig!! Make sure that you do not dig yourself a hole and fall into it, however; this is the pitfall of deep spiritual work, we can become narrow minded and think our way is the only way, when in actuality there are many paths to God or Oneness. We must honor other’s beliefs at this time. Rohini nakshatra would be Skunk medicine; this is “reputation”, and Rohini has a reputation for being very sexual and using sex to get her way. Skunk medicine in reverse is when we are spraying our sexual energy in the wrong way and repelling the object of our attraction; make sure you are not leaking sexual energy and that you are not bombarding your love interest with unwanted affection.

June 19th-Saturn and Ketu surround the Moon, Papa Kartari Yoga

The Moon will be passing by Saturn/Ketu/Pluto every month until about November, so for these six or so days surrounding the 19th try to remember that if you are feeling depressed and anxious it’s not just you. We are all feeling it. This is a great time to do the Shani Maha Mantra and ask Saturn for some help; he’s actually not the horrible guy he’s made out to be. He’s a tough teacher, but there is a lot of love there for us; if you can pass his tests he gives the best rewards.

June 21st-Mercury enters Cancer

Mercury has been in his sign of Gemini, but has been overshadowed by Rahu and Mars, so he’s actually glad to be past the now. Cancer is a water sign and when Mercury travels here he can be quite a sap; crying over TV commercials, and foggy brain syndrome are two ways this energy is expressed. Mercury will be making a trine to Jupiter in Scorpio, another water sign; this watery influence will counterbalance the eclipse energies of Gemini and Sagittarius and provide a much-needed dip into the pool to cool us off. Mercury will be in Cancer for two months, because he is going retrograde next month and actually will go back into Gemini for about five days. If you’re wanting to get things done in a hurry think again; this is a great summer for lazy days in the Sun by the water soaking up the sunshine. Mercury is asking us to chill and teaching us that patience is a virtue.

June 21st- Neptune Retrograde, 24 degrees Aquarius

As one of the outer planets Neptune takes a long time to orbit around the Sun, 165 years to be exact, which means he spends approximately 13 years in each zodiac sign. Neptune is the planet of illusion and deception; as a higher octave of Venus he also rules music. Accidents involving water often occur when he goes retrograde, and also deceptions are exposed. Being that he will be making the hard square aspect to Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio I think the deceptions of spiritual leaders will be exposed; we will hear more about the Catholic church scandal, and also as he’s trining Rahu in Gemini we will hear about the disclosure of ET that the government has been hiding from us. Neptune Direct: November 27, 21 degrees Aquarius, so until November we also have Saturn conjunct Ketu, so I see this time as secrets being exposed.

June 23rd-Mars enters Cancer (debilitated)

Mars is the soldier and where he sits in your chart is where he goes to battle for you. He ordinarily doesn’t do well in the sign of Cancer, as it’s the Mother, and Mars wants to fight. In this sign he finds himself being overrun by his emotions, and it’s not a comfortable place to be. During this transit we have him joining Mercury and trining his pal, Jupiter in Scorpio. It’s like they’re bonding and forming a support group to deal with the high drama in Gemini and Sagittarius now, so follow their lead and put your physical energy into water sports. Swimming is an excellent way to channel this energy; remember, when a planet is debilitated it’s not always bad, it’s just a challenge. So, rise to the challenge and get wet! It’s going to be a hot summer, so use this water sign for moksha, or spiritual liberation from the waters of your subconscious fears. Water is an excellent medium for interdimensional travel, so dream work is enhanced now.

June 23rd-Saturn conjunct Ketu, 24 degrees Sagittarius

As Saturn is retrograde we are hitting this point again that we went over at the end of April. Again, try not to let anxiety and depression get the best of you. Look up! It’s important to remember that it’s not just you; everyone if feeling sad when these two come close, and being that they are traveling together until November means that on this day it will be intense. Getting outside in nature is one of the best ways to ground yourself during this time. Get into the water or sit on a patch of cool grass in the shade to get some relief; just putting your barefeet onto the Earth will help to thin your blood and make your organs not work so hard; it’s called Earthing, and I highly recommend it.

June 23rd-Jupiter retrograde oppose Venus

These two planets are natural enemies and being that they are the gurus of their planetary camps they both think the other’s methods are bogus. Jupiter is retrograde in Scorpio and he is the indicator of higher education, the kind that is not privy to the masses and costs a lot of money, just as college education is pricey. Venus is the guru of Love and is the kind of spiritual teacher that opens her knowledge to the masses, and it is also at a high price, but Venus is willing to barter or trade services. Jupiter’s focus in on maintaining the spiritual purity and integrity of the teachings and so will not teach all people; Venus feels that everyone deserves the truth, and because of this she is known as a prostitute. I’m going to say that with this opposition Venus in her own sign of Taurus has the upper hand; Let Love Rule, she says.

June 29th-July 23rd Venus is in Gemini

Venus moves out of the earth sign of Taurus into the bubbly sign of Gemini.  You’d think that Venus does better in her own sign, but actually she prefers the sociability of the air sign of Gemini where she can flirt and flaunt her brilliant mind, body and soul.  Venus will be joining Rahu and the Sun, and this will make her a bit nervous and anxiety prone being in the company of two powerful men.  She will amp up parties and time spent with others; look to what house she is in to see where your values are at this time.  The first eclipse is coming up on July 2nd and her moving into this position is setting the stage, as opposite her we have Ketu, Saturn and Pluto, which means that our self-care may be lax at this time, because of all of the socializing.  It is imperative that you maintain a good sleep schedule and diet during the eclipses, as you can get very ill if you don’t.   Mercury and Mars are two places away in Cancer, so it may be difficult to have our values understood in conversation; try to stay a bit more quiet, and only speak when necessary, which will be difficult with Venus in the talkative sign of Gemini.  Remember, you can’t un-shatter a piece of glass once it’s broken; you can put it back together, but it will never be the same.
