Sun in Sidereal Gemini
In the sidereal zodiac the Sun goes into the air sign of Gemini on June 14th, 2020. The sidereal zodiac is the real time placement of the planets and stars and is what Vedic astrology uses. Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac which is NOT the real time placement of the celestial bodies, but is roughly 23.5 degrees ahead of where the planets and stars really are. So, if you follow Western astrology typically you fall back a sign in Vedic; there is a 7 degree overlap between the two zodiacs, so people born between the 14th-22nd of any month will be the same Sun signs in both systems. As Vedic is a lunar based system, we place more emphasis upon the Moon sign than the Sun sign.
Transit Analysis
Today the Sun joins Rahu and Mercury in Gemini; he does well in Gemini and joining the Mercury who rules Gemini should put more emphasis on news, speech, media and communication. Our will power is extraordinarily strong here, and with Rahu we have to be careful of our speech; it’s very easy to talk too much with this combination or say things that should not have been said. Mercury will go retrograde on the 18th, and as this is the planet that rules Gemini we definitely will see some frustrations revolving around media and communications at this time; short distance travel should be complicated, especially for Gemini and Sagittarius ascendant or Moon sign, too. We are still in a Kala Sarpa Yoga, meaning that all of the planets, and including the outer planets, are between Rahu and Ketu. All of the planets are moving towards Rahu, and this indicates a snake coiling up getting ready to pounce. Events are more intense at this time and it could be a dosha, or a negative influence as we have Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto all conjunct in Capricorn. Mars and Neptune are trining the Sun/Rahu/Mercury conjunction right now, and this means that old news concerning military leaders will come out and deceit will be revealed. Mars and Neptune together indicate a rise in oil prices, but with so many planets retrograde it could indicate that the stock market is struggling. This is all setting the stage for the New Moon/Annular “Ring of Fire” Solar Eclipse that is taking place on June 21st in Gemini; that day is also the summer solstice, and for the Sioux Indians it’s Sundance time. Eclipses are shadow points and show to us our blind spot; things that were previously concealed will be relealed. The lunar eclipse is when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon and lines up with the ecliptic, and the solar eclipse is when the Moon gets between the Sun and the Earth and lines up with the ecliptic. So, having the Sun in Gemini eclipsed with the ruler of Gemini, Mercury, in retrograde means that information will be coming out that was previously hidden.
