Moon in Sidereal Sagittarius
The sidereal zodiac is the “real star” placement of the celestial bodies; so, when you look up at the sky with your phone using a sky map, that is the sidereal zodiac. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, while Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which pushes the planets and stars forward roughly 23.5 degrees.
On July 5th at 12:44am EST the full moon will be in Sagittarius, Uttara Ashada; it is also a lunar eclipse and will be visible in North and South America, and Africa except for north eastern countries. Staring at 11:07pm EST the Moon will begin its eclipse; maximum point is at 12:29am on the 5th; only half of the Moon will be eclipsed, as it a penumbral, or not a total, eclipse. At 1:52am the event will conclude; the whole eclipse will last 2 hrs and 45 minutes.
Below is the Full Moon lunar eclipse chart for the day in Washington DC:
On July 5th at 12:44 am EST we have the Full Moon/Penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 19 degrees Sagittarius, Purva Ashada nakshatra, meaning “early victory” or “undefeated”. It spans from 13.2 to 26.4 degrees of Sagittarius, and the symbol is an elephant tusk, a fan, or a winnowing basket, used for ridding corn of its husks. The deity that rules this lunar mansion is Apah, the goddess of water; also, Varuna, the god of the healing cosmic waters and sky. This is the “Invincible Star” and is said to also mean “declaration of war”. The stars in the Archer’s Bow of Sagittarius belong to this nakshatra, and they are Kaus Borealis and Kaus Australis; they give leadership abilities with altruistic, idealistic qualities and a strong sense of justice. The planet that rules this nakshatra is Venus, and in Persian astrology it is Mars and Mercury.
The mythology of Apah is related to Varuna in that they both rule the cosmic waters that spread all directions giving life and eventually a rise to humanity. This healing water is invigorating, and as a powerful force of nature, Apah is a protector of the waters across the planet and brings rain. As this is the Invincible Star people who are born with this nakshatra prominent in their chart will be proud, indestructible, and independent; they have much power and influence over others. These natives are overly aggressive in achieving their goals, and can be very confrontational, even controlling of others in order to improve their status. They are popular, but social climbers, so they have to be careful of being too manipulative. Purva Ashada people are philosophical and have emotional depth, and are quite good at defining others’ flaws, but not their own. They love to debate and have a sharp angry disposition; good at oratory, they can be excellent speakers, professors, and lawyers.
Analysis
On Sunday, the 5th we have the Full Moon/Penumbral Lunar Eclipse at 19 degrees Sagittarius, Purva Ashada. This means “early victory” and also is known as “declaration of war”; it is extremely aggressive and considering how much violence has taken over the protests, I see a real Civil War brewing. We are still in a Kala Sarpa Yoga with all of the planets between Rahu and Ketu just as we were two weeks ago for the solar eclipse, but a few planets have shifted position. The Sun and Mercury retrograde are in Gemini with Rahu for this lunar eclipse, and they are both in Ardra nakshatra, which is the lunar mansion of last year’s solar eclipse. Ardra is the teardrop, so I feel something tragic will occur.
In Washington D.C. this lunar eclipse happens in the 10th house of recognition in the career (see chart above), and we have Ketu sitting with Jupiter again who is exactly conjunct Pluto again (see my video on this with Simon Chokoisky from 2 months ago). This means that Rahu is in 4th house, and the naga, or serpent, associated with this is Sankhapala; he has a strong nesting instinct, often establishing ethnic boundaries, perhaps reinforced by religious ceremony. The feeling is “if we come under attack, put the wagons in a circle”. I feel like the US will be under attack on the 4th and leading into the lunar eclipse of the 5th; we could be at war, a real war. Transit Mars will be in the 1st house there and this means that anger and violence will be directed at the US leadership. Mars is at the fulcrum of this Kala Sarpa Yoga, and the opposite house is Virgo, which is health and healing. This indicates the global pandemic, and with so many planets retrograde right now in the 10th house shows that our jobs are at risk. Neptune retrograde in the 12th shows that the truth is coming out concerning foreign lands. Uranus is in Mars’s sign of Aries, and this shows a sudden attack on Washington DC, or the US in general.
US Birth Chart
In the US birth chart this lunar eclipse is happening in the 1st house, and Mars is at the fulcrum of the Kala Sarpa Yoga in the 4th house. Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius, and transit Jupiter is here in the first house of the US; this may be our saving grace, plus Venus is the ruler of Purva Ashada, and she is in her own sign in the US 6th house of health, another helpful aspect. Mars in the 4th house shows anger in the homeland will directly affect Washington DC, and they will finally take some real action to stop the riots. Having everyone out of work again is seen in our 10th house of Virgo, where Mars is opposing; we have Saturn and Neptune there, so there will be delays (Saturn) in getting pharmaceuticals (Neptune). Transit Rahu/Sun/Mercury retrograde is in the 7th house, and in mundane astrology this is the opponent. We definitely will hear something that was withheld before concerning leadership of our enemies, and this will be a fated and karmic event.
The ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter, so that makes transiting Jupiter the most important planet of this eclipse; Venus rules Purva Ashada, so transiting Venus is the second most important graha. Sagittarius is the karaka of religion, beliefs, education, long distance travel, foreign lands, and luck and fortune. We now have Jupiter retrograde and Pluto retrograde back in Sagittarius, and they are conjunct Ketu again like they were last summer. The day that Jupiter went into Sagittarius last year was March 29th, and that was the day that the Cathedral of Notre Dame burned down. The July 2nd, 2019 solar eclipse had Ketu in Purva Ashada at 23 degrees of Sagittarius, and today’s lunar eclipse is only 4 degrees away from that point. Last summer we had no clue that the pandemic was coming, or that rioting would lead to tearing down statues and destroying property; this is Jupiter debilitated in Capricorn, an Earth sign indicating materiality; but now that he is back in his own fire sign of Sagittarius we will see fire as the theme.
Tearing down will lead to burning down, and if we are not careful, it will get out of hand and we will be in a full-scale war. Saturn is retrograde in his own sign of Capricorn still, but Neptune retrograde is in Aquarius, ruled by Saturn. Neptune when direct rules fog, storms, water, film, and the mystical illusory world; he is the Master of Illusions. When Neptune goes retrograde, he reveals what he usually hides; so, lies and deceit will come out at this time concerning governments around the world, as he disposits to Saturn who rules authority. As Apah is the goddess of water, and Neptune also rules water and he is retrograde, could mean that we will not get enough rain this summer and be in a drought. Also, if we are in a civil war water supplies could dry up, so stock up on bottled water now. Neptune also rules water, gases and oil, so stocking up on gasoline would be a good idea, too.
Mars is still at the fulcrum of this Kala Sarpa Yoga, and he is now in Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra, meaning “serpent of the deep”. This yoga is moving from Ketu to Rahu, so this represents the curling up of the tail of the serpent getting ready to pounce. I feel that there could be an attack will come from within, as the serpent that stays nestled at the bottom of the ocean will get activated by Mars. He is pointing to the opposite sign of Virgo, indicating that we are still dealing with the health crisis, and it will get worse as Jupiter and Pluto are covering old territory from March and April, and when they go direct they will hit those transit degrees again. Venus may be our only saving grace, pointing to the women; she is in her own sign of Taurus still, and very strong there. The fixed star Bellatrix was the star of the solar eclipse, and this is the “female warrior”, and indeed we see a rise in female activists at this time.
