The sign the eclipse is taking place in is Cancer, and it’s in the nakshatra of Pushya, which means “to nourish”, and which is ruled by Saturn. This nakshatra embodies the true essence of the sign of Cancer, which is the nurturing mother, and rules the breasts.  This puts Saturn in the spotlight, or rather as the eclipse is a shadow it puts a shadow on him revealing to us what has been hidden. Saturn is in Sagittarius right now in Purva Ashada, which is ruled by Venus. Looking at Saturn and Venus will help us to unpack the meanings behind this eclipse. At the EST time of the eclipse the Ascendant of the day will be 23 degrees 23 minutes Virgo, Chitra; this puts Saturn in the 4th house of the homeland, and Venus in the 3rd house of short distance travel and media, and as Saturn is 12 places from Venus, this indicates problems with foreign lands in gains/losses. This also puts the eclipse (Moon) conjunct Rahu in the 11th house of larger communities and great gains/wealth. As the 11th house rules the public sphere having these two planets of intensity (Rahu) and emotions (Moon) conjunct there will intensify emotions and could bring the crazies out. Please be careful when going out into the public sphere. Since it’s the Lunar eclipse we have the Sun opposite in the 5th house of speculations, children and education, and it is conjunct Ketu and Mercury. Ketu is loss and spirituality, and past lives; he makes us go back and do things over again sometimes. Mercury there will affect communications, so really be careful traveling. Mars is in Pisces and making a trine aspect from the 7th house, so partnerships could be at a “make or break” point. Venus and Jupiter are in Scorpio and completely conjunct exact the day after the eclipse, and also making a trine to the eclipse in Cancer, and Mars and Jupiter are in parivartana yoga together, which means they are in each other’s sign, and joined in “sambandha”, which makes them especially helpful to each other.  So this will add a hopeful touch, perhaps the proverbial “silver lining in the cloud”. As this is a Blood Moon the reddish hue will certainly engage Mars’ energy, adding power to the emotions at this time. Don’t let heated arguments turn violent; remember that no one can make you feel anything, it is your free will choice to react or act. Also remember, the eclipse is a shadow point, so it’s revealing what was in the dark and hidden from you concerning that house; if you have planets in the house where the eclipse is happening that will add another dimension to how this plays out for you depending on what those planets rule. I strongly advise that you read this from your Ascendant and Moon signs, as the eclipse is dependent upon the Moon. Your Moon chart will reveal hidden things that you may not see so clearly in the birth chart, and the eclipse brings to light things that were hidden.

Aries

If your Ascendant or Moon is in Aries then this eclipse will be happening in your 4th house of home, mother, real estate and the physical heart, and is activing the other moksha (water) houses of 8 (transformation/inheritance) and 12 (spirituality/loss/foreign lands). As Aries is in Uranus right now in your 1st house be careful of all heart ailments, whether they be cardiovascular health issues, or heartbreaks. Also, be careful of accidents involving fire in the home; this may have already been a concern as Uranus has been in Aries for quite some time.  Check your Ascendant degree and see when Uranus crosses it; this will be the most sensitive time for accidents involving fire.  As the 4th house is the house of real estate, and Mars rules real estate, with transit Rahu and the Moon there you could be getting some help from your mother in regards to purchasing property, or an inheritance could be coming in now as Venus and Jupiter are in your 8th house of other people’s money, i.e. inheritance. Mars is in your 12th house right now, so it could be that the property is in foreign lands, but be careful of enemies behind your back. Your 10th house is getting energized with Ketu, Mercury and the Sun there. You could be losing your job, but with the Sun there you could be getting something even better, so try not to worry. Saturn and Pluto are in your 9th house of the father and higher education, as well as luck and fortune. These planets are making the difficult 6/8 quincunx aspect to the eclipse, so your father may be having some health issues, and if you’re in higher education as a student or professor you could be facing some issues with authority figures at school. Neptune is in Aquarius in your 11th house of larger communities, and Neptune as the great dissolver may be showing you some uncomfortable truths about the social realm you occupy, perhaps related to drugs and alcohol, or delusional people; or you could be meeting people that you feel connected to from other dimensions, and you may have found a very special spiritual group. You especially need to be careful on this day, perhaps try to stay close to home. As Ketu, Mercury and the Sun are opposed the eclipse in your 9th house of the father, long distance travel, and higher education, pay attention to your father; his health may need some attention right now, or you may lose communication with him. If you’re a student you may feel that your emotions are getting the best of you and you can’t focus right now; try to take a small break and meditate and ground yourself. This eclipse energy is a shadow point and it’s showing us what is hidden; pay attention to thoughts and images that pop up during your meditations, they will give you clues as to the root of the problem. Venus and Jupiter are in Scorpio in your 7th house, so this should bring some peace, joy and love to your partnerships and businesses! This is making a trine to the eclipse in Cancer, and as water signs they bring moksha, or spiritual liberation, to the houses they occupy. For you this is the 3rd house of siblings/media/short distance travel, the 7th of partnerships in love and business, and the 11th house of larger communities/great gains/elder siblings. Gemini

If your Ascendant or Moon is in Gemini then this eclipse is happening in your 2nd house of immediate family, the throat, money and loss, and is activating your other artha (earth) houses of 6 (health/service/workplace), and 10 (career). As transit Rahu and the Moon are conjunct there it could mean that your speech or voice in general could bring you fame; in a natal chart having Rahu and the Moon conjunct indicates fame, and so make sure that your words come from the heart, not an angry mind. Transit Venus and Jupiter are in Scorpio are in your 6th house of health and work, so this will bring an ease to the workplace, and also if you’re in the restaurant or music industry this combination will certainly bring out the best in you and your projects, but be careful of overeating! Jupiter loves food and Venus loves luxuries, so indulging in treats could expand your waistline. Cancer

If your Ascendant or Moon is in Cancer then this eclipse is happening in your 1st house of self, the head, the ego, the appearance and the personality, and is activating the other dharma (fire) houses of 5 (education/children/talents/speculation), and 9 (father/higher education/religion/luck & fortune). In a birth chart having Rahu and the Moon conjunct indicates fame, and having these two planets transiting there can bring fame to the individual (1st house). The emotions will be very powerful, as Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so having it there with the Great Mouth (Rahu) will make your emotions very visible. You may really be into spa treatments lately, and this eclipse is a great time to take a long hot bubblebath, and especially facial skincare as Rahu rules the head, and the 1st house rules the face. Be careful not to let any anger go to your head and make you angry, and don’t let your ego go to your head and make your arrogant. Also, pay attention to when Rahu has crossed your lagna point, or when it will, as this is a dangerous time for accidents. Whenever any malefic planet like Rahu crosses your Ascendant just lay low and don’t take long trips, or get into dangerous situations if you can avoid them. Leo

If your Ascendant or Moon are in the sign of Leo then this eclipse is taking place in your 12th house of spirituality, foreign lands, suffering, secret enemies, and final liberation into other realms, and is activating the other moksha (water) houses of 4 (mother/childhood/real estate), and 8 (transformation/inheritance). Having the Moon itself in the 12th house can bring vivid dreams, but with Rahu they will be amplified. A Rahu/Moon conjunction can bring fame in foreign lands to you. You may also connect with the Divine Feminine in some spiritual way, not necessarily religious, but in a mystical experience. The Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio is happening in your 4th house of the mother and real estate, so having both Gurus there will certainly increase your thirst for knowledge of the Divine Mother. If your Ascendant or Moon is in Libra then this eclipse is taking place in your 10th house of career, and is activating your other artha (earth) houses of 2(money/loss/voice/immediate family). And 6 (health/service/workplace).  Just as in a birth chart when Rahu and the Moon are conjunct indicates fame, when these two transit together it can bring fame to the individual.  So you will gain some kind of fame in your career at this time.  Venus, your chart ruler, is transiting with Jupiter right now in Scorpio in your 2nd house of money; as it is trining the eclipse in a water sign you should come into money from your career.  Mars is in Pisces completing the water trinity in your 6th house of health and the workplace, so you will definitely be benefitting from the hard work you’ve done, and this financial gain will be from the labor you’ve put into it, not necessarily as an unexpected gain.  Saturn and Pluto are conjunct in your 3rd house of media and communications, and siblings.  You may find it difficult to communicate with your siblings right now, and they may have some difficulty with short distance travel.  Watch out for when Ketu goes into Sagittarius and conjuncts Saturn starting on March 23; they will be conjunct for some time in your 3rd house, so short distance travels may have a damper on them for yourself, as well.  You will start to feel a loss of power, or your power taken away from you, regarding 3rd house matters of writings, media and siblings.  Just observe, try not to react. If your Ascendant or Moon is Scorpio then this eclipse is taking place in your 9th house of the father, religion/beliefs, higher education, and luck/fortune, and is activating your other dharma (fire) houses of 1 (self/ego/appearances) and 5 (children/talents/speculations/education).  As Jupiter rules this house it indicates what we aspire to, and what we are inspired by.  When the Moon and Rahu come together it can indicate fame, so you are aspiring and hoping for recognition.  Transit Venus and Jupiter are in Scorpio in your 1st house trining this eclipse, so this brings the desired fame to you.  Mars is completing the water trinity in your 5th house of talents, and as your lagna lord he is energizing speculations you’ve made, and bringing power to your children, whether human or creative.  Anytime Jupiter is on the ascendant it’s a good time, and having Venus there will bring you luxuries.  Saturn and Pluto have been in Sagittarius for some time in your 2nd house of money and immediate family; there have been losses for you of money and stability in the home life.  On March 23rd Ketu will join these planets there, so you’ve got to shift your attitude about loss and money to get through this.  Money may come to you with the Venus/Jupiter conjunction on the ascendant, but with Saturn in the 2nd don’t waste it!  When Saturn and Ketu come together it can put you in jail concerning that house; you may feel you have no power with money, but you need to track your spending.  Where is your money going? Sagittarius

If your Ascendant or Moon is in Sagittarius then this eclipse is taking place in your 8th house of transformation, the occult, and inheritance, and activating your other moksha houses of 4 (mother/childhood/heart/real estate), and 12 (spirituality/loss/foreign lands).  This house is where we delve into the depths of the mysteries of life, and having Rahu and the Moon there is an excellent aid to this quest.  You could have epiphanies or revelations of spirit where you get a dose of what life is really about.  You could also receive a large inheritance from your mother or mother’s family, or even your spouse’s mother’s family.  Venus and Jupiter are conjunct in Scorpio in your 12th house of foreign lands, so you could receive a large amount of money from foreign lands.  Your spirituality will be energized at this time with Venus and Jupiter in the 12th, too.  You may meet your gurus in foreign lands.
