February 16th-FULL MOON, 11:55am EST, 3 degrees Leo, Magha
Today’s Full Moon takes place at 11:55am EST at 3.49 degrees of Leo, Magha nakshatra. This means “the great one”, and spans from 0 to 13.2 degrees of Leo, and the symbol is a royal throne. The deity that rules this lunar mansion are the Pitris, or the ancestors. This is the Star of Power, and the fixed star Regulus, the “Heart of the Lion”, belongs to this nakshatra. It is believed that our ancestors live here between lifetimes, and this star gives a need for power and high aspirations. This is the royal star, and people that have this prominent in their chart are often leaders, and have a high social status. They are very intersted in their family history, and will be enthusiastic genealogists. Having such a love of their family can make them a bit exclusionist, and they will not bring people into their tribe easily or without tests of faith. These people are incredibly loyal, but can be arrogant and elitist. They have a deep drive pushing them forward in life, and once they are passionate about something they will want to attain a certain sort of profiency in that area. Leo is ruled by the Sun, and Magha is ruled by Ketu, so these two transit planets will be particularly important today.
We have the Full Moon taking place in the 4th house of the day for Washington D.C., and it is completely isolated on one side of the chart, while all of the planets are on the other side. The 4th house is about the homeland in a country’s chart, and so we may get some interesting news coming out of the White House at this time concerning matters of national security. Certainly the Mars Venus Planetary War, “Graha Yuddha”, is showing up with the Ukrainian invasion threat, and it’s in the nakshatra Purva Phalguni, which means “declaration of war”! Crazy. This will go on until March 11, one of the longest planetary wars we’ve had in awhile, so this crisis will go on until then.
Last month was another Full Moon in another Leo nakshatra, Purva Phalguni, but today it is in Magha. This nakshatra is all about royalty, and our ancestors, so this is a great time to work on your family tree, and give thanks to those who came before us to give us life. Ketu rules this lunar mansion, so this is about our past lives, and karmic patterns of behavior that we inherited from our family. The Moon does not like to be isolated, and being in the Sun’s sign opposite the Sun and well, all of the planets, means that we will see some solar flares. Indeed, the past few weeks have been interesting as we have had Earth directing CME’s (coronal mass ejections) that have caused earthquakes, tsunamis, and even the Starlink satelittes to go out. Imagine if it took out our electric grid? That’s the kind of power the Sun has over us, it gives us complete life on the planet, and it can take it away in an instant. That is real power. So, today as we are isolated, ask yourself, where does your power come from? If it is not coming from inside you, then you know it can be taken away. Deep stuff here. Focus on your solar plexus, and rev up your energy. This kind of energy can deplete us, so just know that if you’re feeling extra exhausted today, it’s not just you, it’s the Sun.
Ketu rules Magha, and it is in the 7th house of the day, and this is the opponent in mundane astrology. Ketu is loss and surrender, and in Mar’s sign of Scorpio it is exalted, and lots of scientific breakthroughs happen with this configuration. Transit Mars is in the 8th house of the day showing transformation but possible death, and with Venus it shows extreme nationalism, even racism. All of this shows this intensity that is building up, and it’s got to go somewhere. Ketu is the body of the serpent without the head, and so he can lose his head with rage as a religious fanatic if he’s not careful.
For the US birth chart this Full Moon is taking place in the 9th house of law, and we see laws being challenged concerning pandemic mandates, and some even throwing them out. Lots of entitled authority figures are being called out, for instance the San Francisco School Board Recall where three board members were kicked out of their positions for irresponsible actions concerning pandemic mandates. People have had it, and especially parents, so this “royal” behavior of school boards making decisions about the education of children without the consent of parents is not going to fly right now. This energy can also be seen with the Canadian Trucker Convoy that is protesting this same priviledged entitlement of the political elite, and it will certainly come to a head at this time. Ketu is in the 12th house today in the US birth chart, and this is a very spiritual placement, but it also points to foreign lands, and even outer space. Ketu is dispositing to that Mars Venus conjunction in the 1st house, and you know what? I think this is pointing to war coming to us, and getting the US involved. Biden said he would only strike if Russia invades, so this could be the indication.
