Today’s Full Moon takes place at 3 degrees 19 minutes of Gemini, Mrigashira nakshatra, which means, “head of a deer”. It spans from 23.2 degrees of Taurus to 6.4 of Gemini, and the symbol is a deer or antelope head. The deity that rules this lunar mansion is Soma, the Moon god, also called Chandra. This is the “Star of Searching”, and the fixed stars that belong here are those in Orion, the hunter, but specifically Bellatrix, which sits on the left shoulder of Orion; it means “female warrior”, and gives military honors. Mrigashira is ruled by Mars, and Gemini is ruled by Mercury, so these two transit planets are particularly important today.
Mythology
The mythology of Mrigashira is about Orion the sky god as Prajapati, the world maker who became obsessed with his daughter, Rohini. He chased her through this part of the sky from Aldebaran (Rohini) to Mrigashira (Orion); tonight look up and you will see the Moon in this famous part of the nightsky. Prajapati changed forms to make himself faster to keep up with Rohini, and ultimately became an antelope, one of the most swift animals. Shiva came to save Rohini and shot an arrow, causing Orion to fall to Earth; this destroyed the Oneness of the Universe.
Mrigashira in a Birth Chart
People that are born under this star are always reaching for that elusive something that will fulfill them, but once they get what they want, they are often dissatisified. This causes them to be restless and full of anxiety, and this can produce a shopaholic, or a collector who can never complete their collections. This person will make an excellent researcher, however, and they will not stop until they solve the puzzle. This is the type you want to be investigating crimes, because they will not stop until they reveal the truth. These people can be timid like the deer, but also have large beautiful eyes that take it all in. Just like the myth, these people can be the victim of incest and sexual abuse as children. As adults they do love the thrill of the hunt, and are quite romantic. They are known to have beautiful children, and will be very protective of them so that they do not have the childhood traumas that they have endured.
USA Transits
The Full Moon is happening in the 11th house for Washington DC, and this indicates that large groups of people and communities are the focus. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and transit Mercury is conjunct the Sun in the 5th house of the Full Moon. This means that people are activating their communities to protect the children. Right now there are some real fights going on concerning whether we should mask our children in schools, or mandating vaccines for them. The parents are standing up for their children, and using their voice on social media to stand up to tyranny. It really feels like the parents represent Shiva shooting the arrow to stop Prajapati, the government, from chasing their children to innoculate them. Even Sesame Street is on board with the seduction of the vaccine, and using TV to push their poison on children.
In the US birth chart this Full Moon is happening in the 7th house of opponents in mundane astrology, and seeing that this is the “Star of Searching”, it seems that we are being pursued by our enemies. The Sun and Mercury conjunction is happening in the 1st house for the US, and the Sun is in Mula nakshatra, which means “the roots”. We are searching for a cure to this disease, and getting to the bottom of it. Mula nakshatra is actually a great healer, and will stay with a patient until they turn the corner of their illness. Badger animal medicine is associate with this energy, and root medicine is a hidden aspect of Mula. Roots such as turmeric, ginger, garlic, anything that grows underground really is seen here. Get to know herbalism, and your root medicines, as Mother Earth has so much to offer us to get and keep us healthy.
Mars is the nakshatra lord today, and transit Mars is in the 4th house conjunct Ketu in the Full Moon chart, and in the birth chart it’s in the 12th house. Well, the th house is the homeland, and the Mars Ketu conjunction is literally fighting (Mars) about poisons (Ketu); pretty self explanatory. Also, the house of the mother is protective of her children, so having this fiery conjunction shows the fierceness of the parents protecting their children from the vaccine, but also from racism in the form of Critical Race Theory. Having it in the 12th house of the birth chart shows that our secret enemies are gearing up
