August 2022 Vedic Sidereal Forecast
Hello, friends! I hope you all are doing well, and thriving. I’ve been busy picking blackberries, and just made some homemade wine and jelly with them. August 1st and 2nd are celebrated in Ireland as Lammas, or the First Harvest, which is ruled by the Sun god, Lugh, or “Light”. He is a triple fire god of war, music and poetry, and smithcrafting. This was a time of sports competitions, music, and general partying to celebrate the first harvest of the fields, and also the first day of Autumn. As the UK is so far north, the autumnal equinox is actually celebrated as the middle of autumn. If you’re in the US you’ll see that the heat is actually still brewing, and here in Indiana we are set to have a heatwave again next week. We celebrate the first frost as the real start of fall, and then when it warms up again after that it is considered Indian Summer. Astrology is a play of light and shadow, and so we must pay attention to the changes around us to see how the planets influnece us.
On August 1st we had the conjunction of Rahu and Mars, and then on the 7th we will have Uranus conjunct Rahu. This indicates accidents, anger, violence, and sudden changes. Personally, I dislocated my knee yesterday, which is why this forecast is delayed. This makes sense, as I have ehlers danlos syndrome, and that conjunction happened conjunct my Saturn Rx in my chart. You can’t make this stuff up, and this is why I follow astrology everyday. Forewarned is forearmed, and it’s just like watching the weather forecast, except it is the spaceweather forecast.
This month we have a massive shift in energy, we have several planets retrograde, or going to be retrograde. So far, we have Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter, Neptune, and at the end of this month we have Uranus going retrograde. Then we will have a Mercury retrograde in September, and Mars retrograde in October. Whew. This means that it’s a time to clean shop, go over old matters, and resolve them. It’s not a time to push forward. The US is currently in a recession, and with cryptocurrency being desimated, we are being forced to pull back and not overspend. We also have to control our anger, and if we are getting angry, it may be a sign of a heart condition. Every person I’ve seen have a heart attack had some sort of a warning ahead of time by a behavior change. No time like the present to tackle health issues, and this month is asking us to think about our heart, as the Sun goes into Leo on the 16th.
