August 2019 Vedic Sidereal Predictions
This month we have many planets in Leo opposed Neptune retrograde in Aquarius. Earthquakes, disclosure of ET, fires, and the exposure of the deceptions of leaders are expressions of this energy. Many laws are changing, and there is a lack of safety in the US. Particulary, Mars oppose Neptune will affect oil prices. Venus and Mars are still combust the Sun, making the weather very hot. Saturn retrograde is still conjunct Ketu & Pluto and opposed to Rahu. It’s going to be a very dramatic and scorching month!
August 1st-Mercury Direct:, 29 degrees Gemini
Mercury has been Retrograde since July 8, 10 degrees Cancer. He’s barely dipping his toe into Gemini before going direct and back into Cancer in a few days. This means he will be with Rahu in Gemini on the 1st, the day after the Black New Moon yesterday. As he is switching directions, we too may change course with our thinking. Maybe we have been reminded of what transpired during the eclipses, and can see where we made a mistake. Also, be careful of guarding your intellectual property, and real estate, too; not a bad idea to install a home security camera.
August 3rd-Mercury goes back into Cancer
Mercury is now direct and will be joining Venus, Sun and Mars already in Cancer. Now that he’s out of the retrograde zone we can move forward and he will help Venus and Mars to communicate what’s on their mind. The Sun there is just putting the focus on Cancerian issues such as nurturing, the mother, food, and the home; we can see where we made mistakes with issues that came up on the Black New Moon of July 31st. Time to not repeat the patterns of abandonment; if someone ignores you, don’t chase them. Find nurturing elsewhere, and don’t waste your time and energy.
Aug 3rd to Aug 14th, 2019-Mars in Cancer/Leo, Gandanta and still Combust the Sun
We will definitely see a decline in real estate markets when Mars is debilitated in Cancer, but when he’s gandanta, or drowning, then it will be particularly intense, and happens at the end of each water sign. It occurs from 26.4 degrees of a water sign to 3.2 degrees of the next fire sign. He is still trining Jupiter retrograde in Scorpio, so this can denote flooding, too. As Mars is the karaka of real estate, and Cancer concerns the home, be especially careful of flooding in the home, as mold is very dangerous to the health. Mars debilitated can make us feel more tired, and with the Sun there our energy is zapped, especially with this heat wave we have in the US currently. Our anger and emotions in general will be intense, too; as Venus is in Cancer and will be gandanta in a few days, past hurts will come up and make us mad, but you must let it out and let it go. Internalized anger can cause disease, and depression. Try channeling your feelings in healthy ways, such as sports, music and writing; if you get yourself physically exhausted then you will sleep better, and a good long sleep can cure many things. Get some rest.
August 8th-Mars goes into Leo
Mars leaves the party of the Sun, Venus and Mercury in Cancer, and goes into the vivacious fire sign of Leo. This will begin the planetary pileup in Leo that will occur at the end of this month that will oppose Neptune retrograde in Aquarius. Now Mars will trine Saturn and Ketu in Sagittarius, and this will bring potential for big fires, and terrorism is on high alert. Mars was debilitated in Cancer and very low in energy; now that he’s feeling more vigor in Leo he may get a bit cocky; try not to let your good feelings turn into self-righteous arrogance at this time. He is still in the gandanta zone until he reaches 3.2 degrees of Leo, which will happen on the 14th. What this means is that even though he’s feeling better in Leo, while he’s still untying this karmic knot that the gandanta zone implies his energy is going to be more forceful and filled with emotion, perhaps rage. Mars is the soldier, and Leo is the karaka of children, so we may see more attention being put on defending children’s rights.
August 11th-Jupiter goes direct at 20 degrees Scorpio, Jyeshtha
Jupiter is now going direct at 20 degrees of Scorpio in Jyeshta nakshatra; oil prices will rise, and the stock market will be very volatile. He will be going back into the gandanta zone when he hits 26.4 degrees on October 17th, so enjoy this time until then. We will have a planetary pileup in Sagittarius with 7 planets there at the end of December, so enjoy Jupiter’s good graces while you can. Jupiter is the Guru, and the sign of Sagittarius is all about our beliefs, such as religion, and having this many planets there shows many voices expressing different beliefs, and the conflict between them.
August 11th-Uranus is Retrograde: 12 degrees Aries, Ashwini
Uranus goes retrograde at 12 degrees of Aries in the nakshatra of Ashwini. Uranus goes Direct on January 11, 2020, 8 degrees Aries. He is known as “The Great Awakener”, can often portend earthquakes, accidents particularly with airplanes, things happen suddenly like a lightning strike. When we have several planets in Leo at the end of this month trining Uranus this retrograde will come into play; we will see past illusions and deceptions revealed with Neptune oppose those planets in Leo, or we could possibly lose someone, and it will be suddenly with Uranus retrograde also in a fire sign.
August 13th-20th-Sun and Venus Gandanta in Cancer, Venus Combust the Sun
Gandanta means the knot at the end of a rope, and always takes place at 26.4 degrees of a water sign to 3.2 degrees of the next fire sign. It is a karmic knot that we must unravel before we can move on, and since it starts in a water sign the feeling is that you are drowning in emotions, or even in a real water flood accident. Venus is completely combust the Sun now as she is riding with the Sun; not a fun placement for this diva who wants the spotlight. When a planet is completely combust the Sun it’s called cazimi; it’s a moment of golden opportunity and optimisim during the combustion that is rather like an open door. Use today wisely! Take care at this time of yourself in the form of getting good sleep, lots of water, nutritious food and even spa treatments to keep yourself in balance. It’s a very hot summer with Mars combust the Sun for so long, so take care of the little ones outside by leaving water for the birds, etc. If you’re feeling very sensitive at this time know that you’re not alone, and don’t let anyone gaslight your feelings by saying, “oh, don’t be so sensitive!” Honor them and let them go.
August 15th-Full Green Corn Moon: 8:29 am EST, 28 degrees of Capricorn, Dhanishta
This Full Green Corn Moon takes place at 8:29am EST at 28 degrees of Capricorn, Dhanishta nakshatra. It is called the Green Corn Moon as this is when the first harvest starts to ripen, and in Celtic traditions it is associated with Lugh, the triple fire god of music, martial arts and poetry; he is celebrated on August 2nd. In Greek mythology Lugh is Apollo, the god of music. This nakshatra spans from 23.2 degrees of Capricorn to 6.4 Aquarius, and it means “the richest one”. The symbols of this nakshatra are a drum or a flute, and indeed these natives march to the beat of their own drum. The Vedic deity that rules this nakshatra are the eight Vasus, which are deities of the Earth that give abundance on the material plane, and indeed people with this nakshatra prominent in their chart often come into money. The stars that rule this nakshatra are a small group of stars located in the head of the Delphinus, or Dolphin, constellation. Sadalsuud is a star that is known as a visionary, and very good for intuitive abilities; publics relations is an area that these natives excel at. Mars is the planetary ruler of Dhanishta; in Persian astrology the planets Mars and Mercury correspond to this nakshatra.
The mythology is about the eight Vasus as solar gods of light and energy; these are: Apas, Druva, Soma, Dhara, Anila, Pratyusha, and Prabhas. As Vasu means “light” and “benefic” these deities channel the solar energy down to the material plane bringing abundance like rays of the Sun. People with this nakshatra solidly placed in their chart will have a charitable attitude, and high morals. The star Sadalsuud is known as the “Star of Symphony” and brings substantial material wealth in the form of owning property or real estate, as Mars is the ruler. Musical ability is seen with this nakshatra, as the symbols are musical instruments; as rhythm is played on a drum these natives also enjoy dancing. These people have a sixth sense about timing; they know when to show up, are quite telepathic and never miss a beat. Also, as musical instruments are hollow in order to gain a sound from them, these people will have material wealth but be empty inside. This makes an innate sadness and depression in these people that creates a longing to fill this void. Just as a flute is made of reed and made hollow for music, Sufi poet Rumi said in his poem, “The Reed Flute’s Song”
“Listen to the story told by the reed,
of being separated.
‘Since I was cut from the reedbed,
I have made this crying sound.
Anyone apart from someone he loves
understand what I say.’
Anyone pulled from a source
longs to go back.”
As Mars is the Great Denier, marriage may be delayed or denied altogether. This nakshatra loves to please and live up to their responsibilities of others; as a result, they can be greedy, self-absorbed or even narcissistic. Travel brings joy to them and may keep them from falling into the great hole inside themselves.
On this day of the Capricorn Full Moon we have three planets opposed in Cancer: Mercury, Venus and the Sun. Venus and the Sun are gandanta in Cancer, and the Sun is sankrati, or on the cusp of changing signs to Leo. This makes the Moon feel isolated and alone; he has Neptune retrograde on one side, and Saturn retrograde, Pluto retrograde and Ketu on the other. He is feeling surrounded by enemies, and all of the good guys are over on the other side of the chart. As Dhanishta nakshatra has a sort of melancholy about it, the poor Moon is just miserable. Look to music to help fill the void, and don’t sit at home and cry in your beer. As the ruler of Dhanishta is Mars we see that transit Mars is in Leo, which is ruled by the Sun, and transit Sun is 12 places away. Hidden enemies from behind may attack at this time; be careful! Mars is in Magha nakshatra, which is ruled by Ketu, and transit Ketu is making a 5/9 aspect to it, which helps us to work through this brooding energy. Things from our past are certainly to crop up with Ketu being involved; having transit Saturn there is forcing us to let go, and Pluto is just making everything more deeply felt, pointing us to deep dark secrets hidden in the psyche of the individual, and mankind. Mars is in opposition with Neptune retrograde at this time; past deceptions will be revealed at this time, and spoken, as Neptune is two places away from the Moon. As Uranus is 4 places away from the Moon there could be danger in the homeland; accidents and terrorism risks are high now. This Full Moon is also making a 6/8 quincunx aspect to Rahu in Gemini; this is a build up of energy going towards the Eclipse of the Century on December 26th, so pay attention to what transpired during the eclipses in July and this Full Moon, as these themes will play out now. Jupiter is direct now and casting a nice sextile to this Moon in the hopeful 3/11 aspect, perhaps the only real helper now. Cling to the fire of hope and inspiration, and do not succumb to the dark forces.
August 16th-Venus goes into Leo
Venus is still gandanta, combust the Sun who is gandanta today at the last degree of Cancer sankrati (on the cusp), which is making her feel overly emotional, and now she’s really hot and bothered going into Leo. She does enjoy this sign, though; Venus is a hot planet, and in this fire sign she shines like the star she is! Being combust the Sun means that the he will get all of the attention, however Venus is finally moving past him. The Sun is like a Superstar and when he comes on stage all eyes are on him, and off of Venus. This diva does not to be overlooked and disregarded, so watch out for attention-seeking drama, as Leo loves to be theatrical. Venus is Earth’s twin planet, and used to have water like us. She got too close to the Sun and her water evaporated into the cosmos, and she’s not the hot planet that we know. This is a great time to socialize and mingle with new friends; put on your party dress and get out and dance! Just make sure to drink lots of water, as being in gandanta and conjunct Mars and the Sun will make steam out of all that water.
August 17th-Sun goes into Leo
Happy birthday, Leos! The Sun is in his own sign of Leo, and the King is back on the throne! He is moving exactly with Venus today, and that is a part of the combust cycle called cazimi. Normally when a planet is combust the Sun it weakens the planets affects, but when in cazimi it is like a moment of silence and stillness where the malefic effects are momentarily paused; rather like a shining moment, this can open the doors to let us see what’s hidden. On this day we have the Moon and Neptune retrograde in opposition to this Sun, Venus and Mars conjunction in Leo. Yikes! For sure deceptions will be revealed in regard to authority figures, governments and all types of leaders.
August 21st-Mercury in Cancer trines Jupiter in Scorpio at 20 degrees
On this day the planet of communication and media, Mercury, aspects Jupiter, the planet of wisdom and expansion, by a trine, its 5/9 aspect, in the water signs of Cancer and Scorpio. Mercury is the researcher, and Jupiter is the professor, so this should be an excellent day to delve into studying deep topics of the mind, such as philosophy, art and physics. We are learning new things that will help to improve our lives, and perhaps meeting new gurus and teachers.
August 23rd-Venus and Mars conjunct in Leo
Passions are running high! Mars and Venus are both combust the Sun right now, and in the fire sign of Leo it tends towards the Mars energy a bit more. Sports, martial arts and dance are great ways to express this energy. Romance will be in the air, and our sensual nature will be easy to access at this time. Our values are being championed, as well; Mars loves to save the fair lady from distress! Opposite this we have Neptune retrograde, so this fiery combination is burning off the fog around deceptions about all Neptunian issues, such as the Alienstock festival at Area 51 next month.
August 26th-Mercury goes into Leo
Mercury leaves the sign of Cancer where he is foggy and slow to the fire sign of Leo where he can do his job of communication much better. He will be in the gandanta zone from the 26th-28th, so be aware of your speech during this time. He’s going to feel like the fog has burnt off with Leo, so shine your light! He’s the last to join the party in Leo where the Sun, Venus, Mars are currently, and the Moon in a few days for the New Moon.
August 30th-New Moon: 6:38am EST, 13 degrees of Leo, Magha
This August New Moon takes place at 6:38am EST at 13 degrees of Leo in the nakshatra of Magha. This spans from 0 to 13.2 degrees of Leo and means “the great one”, and the symbol is a royal throne. The deity that rules this nakshatra is The Pitris, or the family ancestors, called “The Fathers”. The star that rules this is Regulus, which is in the heart of the Lion constellation, and is the Star of Leaders. It is a star that is associated with powerful leaders, and can give fame, greed and haughty principles to the native. The planetary ruler of Magha is Ketu, and in Persian astrology Regulus corresponds to Saturn and Mars.
The mythology is about The Pitris, or our ancestors, who live in this part of the sky; it is believed that this constellation is the celestial home of our soul in-between incarnations. People born with this nakshatra prominent in their chart are natural leaders; they often gravitate towards powerful positions in whatever field they choose and may often rule over others. There is a very strong desire for wealth and power, and they can become obsessed with this control and be megalomaniacs, and narcissists. This nakshatra needs to be in the spotlight, their ego needs to be seen, and they can be quite posh royal snobs. As Ketu is the ruler we see that here Leo has a big heart an wants to selflessly help others; they do care about the suffering of others less fortunate, and the spiritualty of Ketu helps them to seek enlightenment through selfless service to others, particularly children.
We have a huge planetary pileup here in Leo; the New Moon, Sun, Mars, Mercury and Venus will all be in Leo opposite Neptune retrograde. Neptune is the Great Dissolver and rules oil, so fuel prices will go up. Neptune will also be exposing corruption and hidden secrets that the government has been hiding. This will be making a sextile to Rahu in Gemini, so talk of ET is big right now. It’s no wonder that millions are threatening to storm Area 51 to see what the government has been hiding from us regarding UFO’s. Those of us in UFOlogy have been waiting for such a moment, but I don’t think using force is the right way. This extreme stellium in Leo is showing that the government and leaders cannot hide, and in the US chart this is taking place in the 3rd house of media and communications, so we are for sure going to see some hidden documents come to light. All of these planets will be trining Saturn/Ketu in Sagittarius, so the loss of power is inevitable for those who have been using deception and fear tactics to keep the truth hidden.
All of this fire energy is making the potential for big fires and terrorism greater. Slash and burn is a planting technique used by indigenous farmers throughout the world, and it is very effective at regenerating dying soil. Right now we are literally slashing and burning off the old control mechanisms in our society and fertilizing the soil for new growth.
