August 11th, 9:53pm EST-FULL MOON, 25 degrees Capricorn, Dhanishta

Tonight, is the August Full Moon taking place at 9:53pm EST at 25 degrees of Capricorn, Dhanishta nakshatra. This means “the richest one”, and spans from 23.20 degrees of Capricorn to 6.40 degrees of Aquarius. The symbols are a drum or a flute, and the deities that rule this lunar mansion are the eight Vasus, which are like cosmic rays bringing light and abundance to this planet. This is the “Star of Symphony”, and the fixed star Sadalsuud rules here, which gives artistic and musical talent, as well as heightened perception and charm.

Sadalsuud,  29’16” sidereal Capricorn

Saturn/Mercury Type Star

  • profound liar, thief, blackguard, scandal, and slander; it is said to cause trouble and disgrace

Fixed star Sadalsuud, Beta Aquarii, is a 2.9 magnitude pale yellow double star in the left shoulder of the water bearer, Aquarius Constellation, even though it’s technically at the end of Capricorn. The traditional name Sadalsuud comes from the Arabic expression سعد السعود (sa‘d al-su‘ūd) which means the luck of lucks. Another Arabic term used was Nir Saad al Saaoud which means the brightest of luck of lucks. The Latin translation being Lucida Fortunæ Fortunarum. The star Sadalsuud is the “star of mighty destiny”, and it’s solar nature presages great honor and riches. Some modern astrologers assert that Sadalsuud indicates trouble and disgrace. β Aquarii. Sa’adalusu’ud, ‘Luckiest of the Lucky’, is one of the two most important stars Aquarius stars, included in every worthwhile astrological list. It is universally recognized as a Sign of Good Fortune for all who have it prominent in their horoscopes, though like all such promotors, it should not be abused.

Gamblers especially should beware of taking foolhardy chances when planets in transit or progression on their horoscopes are aspecting it by squares, oppositions, and the like. Nashira and Sadalsuud were the focal center of a very good area of the sky which was all about good rulers and successful sheikdoms, Saturn-Jupiter, and good things happened for their people, Saturn-Mercury.  They carried this benefic area onto include the stars Sadalmelik, Good or Lucky King, α Aquarii, and the mighty star of Archangel Gabriel, Fomalhaut, Mouth of the Fish, α Piscis Australis, with its reminiscence of that earlier star Nunki, Edict from the Sea, or freely interpreted, Word of God.

Fixed star Sadalsuud rules the right leg just above the ankle in the human body.

Dhanishta in a Birth Chart

These people have a love of music, and can be quite funny, as their sense of timing is perfect. They have a tendency towards travel, as it eases their depression. As the nakshatra indicates wealth, they will have a talent for making money, and accumulating great wealth, but it never reduces the dark hole inside themselves that they are trying to fill. Rhythm is seen with this lunar mansion, and people that have this prominent in their chart will be good at dancing, as well as any kind of music. Oftentimes those with this placement will have relationship problems, and marriage is not their forte. They may divorce several times, or not get married at all. Their tendency towards depression can make them seem selfish and egotistical, but it’s a coping mechanism to withdraw from others when they are low. If you love someone with this placement it’s imperative to get them out of the house, as they love meeting new people and being social once out, the problem is getting them out.  Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, and Dhanishta is ruled by Mars, so these two planets will be particularly important for today’s forecast.

August 2022 Full Moon Chart

For the US this Full Moon is taking place in the 2nd house in the birth chart and the 11th house in the Full Moon chart, and is conjunct Saturn Rx almost exactly, and Pluto Rx. This is an extremely dangerous place for the Moon to be, as this is a papa kartari yoga, meaning that the Moon is hemmed between two malefic planets. This indicates that money is the focus at this time, both on a national and personal level, and knowing that we have our Pluto Return happening for the US is really making it more intense. Our whole economy is being revamped, and even though cryptocurrency is down now, it will make a rebound once Jupiter goes into Aries next year. In the meantime, we all have to rethink our spending habits, and be creative with money to make ends meet.

It’s never any fun when we have to stress about money, but necessity is the mother of invention, so I feel this Full Moon is going to push us to think up new ideas. Also, if you’re feeling low, get out your favorite music, or better yet, go to a concert. The Vasus are bringing light to this Earth which gives us life, so allow yourself to receive. “Where Intention Goes, Energy Flows”, so don’t focus on lack, even though that may be your reality right now.  Focus on abundance, and it will find it’s way to you.

In a birth chart when the Moon is conjunct Saturn it indicates problems with the mother, as Saturn restricts the emotions of the Moon. We may feel that the love we have to give isn’t being received, or even rejected. You see, we have Venus in Cancer opposite this Full Moon, and anytime Venus is conjunct or opposite to Pluto it indicates a betrayal.  Cancer is ruled by the Moon, pointing to even more emphasis upon emotional nourishment. It’s also pointing to this food crisis that we are starting to see revealed to us. A lot of the shelves in grocery stores are eerily empty, and it’s going to get worse.  Venus is also conjunct the Sun, and this is the “Stepford Wives” combination, intimating that our self esteem will be low at this time, and our vitality.  It also indicates problems with the father, so now is a good time to resolve any issues you have with your parents.

Jupiter is on the ascendant for this Full Moon, so that is a saving grace. Having the Great Benefic in the first house will bring us good fortune, and having it retrograde will just accentuate his presence, and our abundance might be forthcoming. It’s a sign of hope, so I’ll take it.  Jupiter Rx is conjunct Neptune Rx, and this indicates the truth being revealed about the homeland, as it’s in the US birth chart’s 4th house. I feel like we are secretly at war, but they don’t want to tell the public, as it will cause a panic. The nuclear plant in the Ukraine that has not been properly maintained during their war is failing, and it’s probably much worse than they are telling us.

Mars is now in Taurus for this Full Moon, and has stepped away from Rahu and Uranus. This is a good thing, and for the US chart it gets 5 bindu points for Mars in Taurus, so that will help mitigate the fact that it’s in the 6th house of open enemies.  Keep your eyes on Mars, because he will go retrograde in Gemini in October, and then come back to Taurus for about 3 months. Pay attention to what’s going on now, as it will be revisited when Mars transits here again October through the beginning of January.
