April 2019 Sidereal Vedic Astrology Predictions

We have a busy month ahead! Now that we are firmly in the new era of Rahu in Gemini and Ketu in Sagittarius many significant events have happened; you can read about them in my blog post, “The Epistemology of the Mean and True Nodes of the Moon”. I made a video of my trip to Southern Ohio and had a great time at the Serpent Mound Star Knowledge Peace Summit 2019. As soon as I got home I got sick with the stomach flu, so my prediction report is late! Coming out of Mercury retrograde in Pisces and Aquarius feels like my head is in a fog and I’m a bit hungover, plus with Jupiter gandanta in Scorpio and now Sagittarius is increasing this intensity!  We have the Pisces New Moon this month which is what the Vedic yearly chart is based on.  This month we have both Jupiter and Saturn conjunct and each one turning retrograde, but they do this every year so let’s not make mountains out of molehills; but what they do not do every year is go retrograde and conjunct each other at the same time, that only happens every 20 years.  There is a delicate balance between these two planets, and even though they are natural enemies they need each other. Fire, Jupiter, needs fuel, which is Saturn. So using this push and pull energy requires us to not lose our focus on the area of life and house in our chart that this is occurring. Pluto is also going retrograde this month in the last degree of Sagittarius, so having three planets begin their retrograde phase will require everyone to have some patience.

Here’s the chart for today, April 2nd

Starting the month we have the tenuous conjunction of Ketu/Pluto/Saturn/Jupiter in Sagittarius with Rahu opposite in Gemini. Darkness that has been repressed will be brought up to be healed at this time, and it will last several months. Having Jupiter in Sagittarius really helps out, as he is the Great Benefic and Guru. Sagittarius is the sign of religion and beliefs, as well as higher education; ruled by Jupiter he teaches us information not privy to the masses.  Spiritual leaders and old traditions will crumble, but it’s all for the best. Governments will be exposed for lies and corruption. This is an intense period we have entered, so it’s time to get real. Mars is making the difficult 6/8 aspect to this conjunction so that is igniting people’s anger and passion about their beliefs. Also we have Venus/Moon/Neptune/Mercury conjunct in Aquarius, and this is actually great for peace, love and the arts. This forms an 3/11 aspect to the above conjunction in Sagittarius, and so I see this breaking down of the old guard as a great opportunity for new ideas in the form of the arts and sciences to be heralded in. Mars is making the 4/10 aspect to this conjunction so physical activities that are philosophy based such as yoga and the martial arts will be a great way to utilize this new energy. Especially once the Sun goes from Pisces to Aries and joins Uranus then we will see events happening rapidly.

Let’s take a look at important dates for the month:

Transits

April 5th-New Moon: 4:52am; 21 degrees Pisces, Revati

The New Moon of April takes place in the sign of Pisces in the nakshatra of Revati. This occurs from 16.4 to 30 degrees of Pisces and means “the wealthy”. Its symbol is a fish, or a pair of fish, and a drum to mark time. The deity is Pushan, the nourisher who is the protective deity for safe travel. The star that belongs to this nakshatra is Al Pherg which is located in the tail of the Northern Fish constellation; it gives organizational ability and a promise of success. The mythology tells of Pushan being invoked for the protection of flocks and herds for safe journeys, and also for recovering lost items and animals. The planetary ruler of Revati is Mercury, which moves into the sign of Pisces this month, emphasizing this transit. This nakshatra represents our journey from this world to the next at the time of death. People with this nakshatra prominent in their chart are often kind and caring, often protective of others like a shepherd with his sheep.  This can lead to co-dependency if not balanced, as they need to develop compassion for themselves and not just others. As this is often associated with mystics and healers having the New Moon here will help humanity develop and implement new frequencies into the arts and healing. Having Mercury, Neptune and Venus 12 houses away will emphasize the mystical quality of this New Moon and will be an excellent time to make music; all of the arts will flourish at this time so if you’ve felt a writer’s block with your art things should start to flow again.

The Moon is making a 3/11 aspect to Mars and this means the energy can be used constructively for struggles. The Ketu planetary conjunction is making a 4/10 aspect to the New Moon, so really look to the hidden events of this time to be the seeds of change that blossom in the future. The corruption that the governments and churches have been hiding will surface for healing, and so we must all use the compassion of Revati to help humanity move forward.

Every 20 years Saturn and Jupiter are conjunct in the same sign; this brings a time of changing paradigms and a turning point in world affairs. It is noted for unexpected events regarding politicians and immense upheavals in the economy. In 1960-61 these planets were conjunct in Sagittarius, and we had a particularly intense and transformative time: Yuri Gagarin become the first human in space, the Peace Corp. established in the US, the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy, the Bay of Pigs Crisis, and construction begins for the Berlin Wall. We will see some of these issues come full circle again and hidden plots revealed now, such as the truth about JFK.

Also, notice that we almost have a kala sarpa yoga on this Pisces New Moon.  This occurs when all of the planets (excluding the outer planets) are between Rahu and Ketu.  The only exception here is Jupiter 1 degree further than Ketu.  That’s pretty close, and I think that’s significant.  As this is the Vedic yearly chart that we use to predict world events I think it’s safe to say that this year will have a fated or destined feel to it, just like the kala sarpa yoga.  Kala means time and sarpa means serpent, and traditionally it means that events with this yoga are destined to happen and may bring misery.  I think it can also mean catastrophes that happen but ultimately it’s for our own good.  People born with this yoga are here on a mission in this lifetime; their lives are not easy but can be very rewarding if they accept their fate.

April 11th-Jupiter Retrograde: 0 degrees Sagittarius

Well, Jupiter has been gandanta (drowning) at the end degrees of Scorpio and first degrees of Sagittarius since February 20th and will remain in this zone until June 31st. Jupiter will be conjunct Saturn the first time from March 29 to April 22nd, so we will get a taste to what is going to come this fall when they come back together. The floods of Scorpio will give turn into wildfires with this energy in Sagittarius, too. August 12th Jupiter will turn direct at 20 degrees of Scorpio, and as Jupiter will be going back into Sagittarius then we can now move forward into a new paradigm.

April 12th-Mercury goes into Pisces

Mercury is debilitated in Pisces, which means this is the least favorite sign for him to be in. As Mercury is the planet of communication and Pisces is the sign of dreams this is an indication that we really need to pay attention to our dreams at this time. This is an extremely telepathic placement, so work on silent communication and keep a dream journal so you don’t forget. As this is not a strong placement for Mercury working on the inner messages will be a good way to utilize this period.

April 15th- Sun goes into Aries

This is the Sun’s sign of exaltation, so our energy should increase dramatically. The Sun is the flashlight of the chart, so see what area of life will be affected by the sun and hidden secrets revealed. If you are Virgo rising or Moon then the Sun will be in the 8th house, so you may be the only ones to not benefit as greatly from this transit. The Sun will be conjoining Uranus this month, and in a fire sign this could meet sudden inspiration or sudden accidents.

April 16th-Venus goes into its sign of exaltation, Pisces

Venus in her sign of exaltation means that love and romance is in the air, and as it’s spring in the northern hemisphere everyone should be feeling spring fever! As Mars is in Taurus this is a nice combination bringing happiness and stability and is a great aspect to get married under as long as both charts support this.

April 17th-Mercury/Venus conjunction in Pisces

The debilitated Mercury and the exalted Venus come together in the sign of Pisces, but as both planets are friends to each other this should help us to visualize on love, peace and happiness. Venus is the indicator of music and when she comes together with Mercury she can help him to communicate his emotions through music. Neptune is a higher octave of Venus and he sits 12 houses away from them adding to the mysterious multi-dimensional energy of this combination.

April 19th-Full Pink Moon: 7:12am; 5 degrees Libra, Chitra

This April Full Pink Moon takes place at 7:12am EST at 5 degrees of Libra in the nakshatra of Chitra, which means “the bright one” and goes from 23.2 degrees of Virgo to 6.4 Libra. The symbol is a bright jewel or pearl. It is called the Pink Moon for the tiny pink flowers called ground phlox that pop up at this time. The deity is Tvashtar or Vishvakarma, the celestial architect. The star that rules this nakshatra is Spica, the bright star in the wheat shaft of the constellation of Virgo, and is one of the most auspicious stars of all bringing success, riches and a love of the arts and sciences. The myth is of Tavashtar as the celestial architect who could shape how humanity sees the world. He created the Universe by blowing the breath of life, or pranayama, into creatures by fanning them with his wings. He is the master of maya, or illusion, and magic, and he represents regenerative power and longevity. People with this nakshatra prominent are often artists, and they love bright colors and jewels, very beautiful eyes and figure, and are extremely glamorous. Sudden flashes of insight can come with the Full Moon here, and it’s a great time to celebrate the arts of any kind and socialize.  The ruler of Chitra is Mars, so Mars’ transit in Taurus is also in a Venus ruled sign, and transit Venus is sitting with Mercury enhancing artistic endeavors at this time, but making the difficult 6/8 quincunx aspect to the Moon causing mental disturbances. Notice that the Moon is isolated in the chart above; this is not good, as the Moon doesn’t like to be alone. Don’t sit at home tonight; get out and mingle and be mindful of sudden opportunities and be spontaneous! The Full Moon is 8 places away from Mars, so don’t let the Moon make you angry and loony.

April 23rd-Jupiter retrograde enters the sign of Scorpio

We are revisiting territory that we went through when Jupiter was here on March 23rd, the date of the True Node shift of Rahu and Ketu into Gemini and Sagittarius for the next 18 months.  On this date we saw the Mueller Report come out and so I think we will hear more about this then. Also, the floods that we saw during March will come back to haunt us and there will be new ones.

April 25th-Pluto goes retrograde at 29 degrees in the sign of Sagittarius, Uttara Ashada

Pluto has been traveling with Saturn in Sagittarius for quite some time and will continue to do so as he goes retrograde in the final degree of this sign. Pluto indicates the darkness hidden beneath and also the outbreak of war. Having him conjunct Saturn and Ketu during this retrograde period intensifies their conjunction. October 3rd Pluto goes direct at 26 degrees of Sagittarius and then when Jupiter goes back into Sagittarius on November 5th, he will take the edge off of this conjunction.

April 30th-Saturn is in Sagittarius and goes retrograde

As if this all isn’t enough right now, we have Saturn go Retrograde and conjunct with Ketu in the sign of Sagittarius. Saturn is retrograde half of the year, hence him being known as grumpy and causing delays. Don’t fret, though, because Saturn may delay, but he never denies; that is Mars’ job. Look to what house in your chart is in the sign of Sagittarius to see where you need to have more patience. On the global scale retrograde Saturn conjunct Ketu will bring the exposure of spiritual leaders and the corruption that they’ve hidden. Already we are seeing the Catholic church be torn apart by the sex abuse scandal that has plagued them for many years. Remember from our perspective on Earth when a planet is retrograde it is brighter in the night sky, and so our attention is drawn to it. Our attention will now be drawn full force to what authority figures have done in the name of power and glory, and they will lose their leadership positions.
