April 16th, 2:56pm EST-FULL MOON, 2 degrees Libra, Chitra

The April Full Moon takes place at 2 degrees of Libra, 36 minutes, in the nakshatra of Chitra. This means “the bright one”, and spans from 23.3 degrees of Virgo to 6.4 of Libra, and the symbols are a bright jewel or a pearl. The deity that rules this lunar mansion is Tvashtar, or Vishvakarma, the Celestial Architect who designed the universe. This is the “Star of Opporunity”, and the fixed star Spica is in this section of the zodiac, belongs to Chitra. This star is the bright star in the wheat shaft of the Virgo constellation, and brings great fortune, successes, and a great talent for art, esecially acting on the Libra side. On the Virgo side you’ll get more architects and engineers, whereas on the Libra side you will find more of the true fine arts geniuses. The mythology is about Vishvakarma as the Master of Illusion, or Maya, as he created the world he blew the creatures into existence by fanning them with his wings. As a magician he represents the regenerative power of creativity, which in turn brings longevity of life. Libra is ruled by Venus, and Chitra is ruled by Mars, so these two planets will be particularly important today.
On a personal level, this is the time to be creative! Jupiter is six places from the Moon, so this is a great time to get in the kitchen and turn food into art, healing art. All of the sadness and tragedy that we’ve gone through the past two years has built up a tremendous amount of pressure inside ourselves, and that’s the same pressure that is needed to create a jewel; or the tears that flow from a grain of sand in an oyster that creates a pearl. So, try to make something that means something to you, even if it’s a significant meal, or however you express your passions, now’s the time to indulge in it. As the ascendent for DC is Magha at the time of the full moon, make some food offerings to your ancestors, or make their foods; anything that celebrates your heritage is a fantastic way to honor this day.
The Full Moon takes place in the 3rd house of the day for Washington DC, and is sitting with Ketu, as we are about to have our first solar eclipse of the year in two weeks. When these two grahas come together it breeds fear and anxiety; in fact, this is the classic OCD combination in a chart. For the US, I feel this is showing the cyber attack threat we are under currently from the Russians, so it could get worse at this time. Opposite this the Sun is sitting with Rahu, Mercury, and Uranus in Aries, and this is in the 9th house of law. I feel this is telling us that Biden is preparing for war, and could be approaching congress about it. Scary times indeed, and as Mar goes into Aries in August we could really be at war, and maybe a nuclear war.
The two star planets of the day, Mars and Venus, are in Aquarius conjunct again, and for the US this is in the 7th house. In mundane astrology this is the opponent, and since Mars and Venus have been conjunct for almost three months now, this has been the harbinger of the Ukrainian war, as Mars wants to fight for the values of Venus. I feel this Full Moon is going to be the time when the US is officially pulled into the war, and there could be some announcement of it, because they are conjunct the US Moon in Shatabishak. Things are not what they seem with Neptune there, and we for sure are not being told the truth.
The good news is that when Mercury goes into Taurus on the 24th he will be breaking the Kala Sarpa Yoga for us, which is when all of the planets are between Rahu and Ketu, and brings a time of intensity. Of course, we cannot forget that the big news this week is that Jupiter has gone into Pisces now, so this will also bring some relief. Guru is much more compassionate and spiritual in Pisces, his own sign, than he is in his other moolitrikona sign, Sagittarius. Once he crosses over 4.5 degrees he will get past the fixed star Scheat on May 5th, which should trigger some sort of tragedy, and this will put us on the track of healing. You see, Pisces is a spiritual sign, because it has to go through great tragedies to gain the spiritual perspective and wisdom he is known for; that wisdom comes at a cost, and that can be seen through the suffering that Scheat brings.
Saturn has been giving his 10th aspect to Libra since he’s been in Capricorn, so this should be the final big impact on this sign by him, as on the 24th he enters the sidereal sign of Aquarius. At that time he will give his 10th aspect to Scorpio, so anyone with significant planets in Libra can party now. Then Scorpio planets will feel the intense pressure of Saturn.
Let’s not forget that this is the first eclipse in two weeks that leads up to the final eclipse in this Aries/Libra cycle on Oct 16, 2023, and this one will go over the US; plus the next one on April 8, 2024…
